Answered Yes

I love to write and read poetry. My favorite is Emily Dickinson's poem which begins "If I can keep one heart from breaking, I shalt not have lived in vain..."

    words are a shield from pain, a dance to get rid of the rain. words are power for the weak, so why do we get punished for what we speak? (i love poetry)

    I like some. I'm not into rapish poetry or any rap really. I will have to take time and try and listen to what he was saying, My self preservation stopped me from hearing it. I give a thumbs up to the Marines, I'm sure what he was saying was probably really good!

    Whose woods these are I think I know.
    His house is in the village though;
    He will not see me stopping here
    To watch his woods fill up with snow.
    My little horse must think it queer
    To stop without a farmhouse near
    Between the woods and frozen lake
    The darkest evening of the year.
    He gives his harness bells a shake
    To ask if there is some mistake.
    The only other sound's the sweep
    Of easy wind and downy flake.
    The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
    But I have promises to keep,
    And miles to go before I sleep,
    And miles to go before I sleep. --by Robert Frost

    Is it possible that one could not enjoy that?? That's one of my all time favorites. =)

    One of my favorites. Do you know "Nothing Gold Can Stay?"

    Nature's first green is gold,
    Her hardest hue to hold.
    Her early leaf's a flower;
    But only so an hour.
    Then leaf subsides to leaf.
    So Eden sank to grief,
    So dawn goes down to day.
    Nothing gold can stay

    Depends on the poem.

    I have a friend that writes poems that I love, but I've tired to read some other poetry and don't understand it. :(
