10 Things To Love About $4 Gas- Which Is Your Favorite?
I thought we would take a positive look at high gas prices. Good news though, gas has moved down $8 in the past two days! Enjoy!-
raves Jul 18, 2008 09:08AM GMTYou couldn't breathe before when gasoline was .35 cents a gallon? Coarse, I don't know how old you are. You may not have been around then. Riding a bike depends on where you live. Might be alright in California during the summertime. No one is gonna ride one in the winter or in the rain. Oil prices just went up now in the late spring early summer. Once the winter hits and you see how much it's gonna cost ya' to heat your house. Plus you seem to forget the price of food and other essentials will will cost more as well. Such items still need to be transported in and of coarse garbage out. In the middle of winter I guess you'll save a few pennies jumping on your bicycle and riding it down to the food store in freezing temperatures. ..............

Answered Less traffic! Just you and the wide open road!
Here in the bay area the traffic looks to be the same. I had to answer one to put in a comment. There ain't a damn thing to love about four plus dollars per gallon of gas. One of the reasons people live so far away from the cities is because they can't afford to live in the cities. Now, the policemen, the firemen, nurses, medical technicians and the like that can't afford to live in the cities aren't going to be able to drive to work either. .....................
Less pollution? You got respiratory problems? I can was breathing fine when gasoline was 35 cents a gallon..........................
More cops. Unlikely, they can't afford the gas to get to work..................
Where are the less deaths?
I don't know if that's gonna cause lower insurance rates. Insurance companies don't want less money coming in.
With the cost of home heating, gasoline, and food going up and up. Who's going to have money to buy much of anything? Globalization my ass..........
Where did this 4 day work week come from. I ain't heard anything about it. 3 day weekend. Big deal. You can't afford to go or do anything............
Let's not forget. Goods still have to be trucked in and waste trucked out. Because of high fuel cost that means food and other things will cost more...Here in the bay area the traffic looks to be the same. I had to answer one to put in a comment. Give it a little more time and when all the actors and other motion picture libs in Hollywood start taking a hit in their back pockets because we little people the surfs no longer have the disposable income and can't afford going to the movies and what not. It'll be interesting to see if they change their tunes...........................(less) -

Answered Globalized Jobs Return Home- It costs more to ship and travel!
Nice question and way to turn lemons into lemonade. Our bike shops are turning a profit like never before but it is still Montana- home of the BIG TRUCKS. Not for me tho- I bike as often as I can, all the while praying the BIG TRUCKS don't squish me like a bug..... lol -

Answered Less Obesity- Well, when you have to walk ten miles to work...
Don't start looking at the positives because they throw us a bone once in a while. The cost is still ridiculous and something needs to be done.
My pick for best sideaffect was Less bodyfat..due to this government imposed diet I can only afford to feed my car OR myself.
My car has a powerful hunger. -

can we say most of the above? while i hate the price of a fill up and miss long drives just because, i can learn to deal it. i am also excited about new technology that may come out of this. technology that will provide clean power and new ways to do things. change happens and its always hard but really good things may comne from this.

I know it's been hard on those who have been laid off. Perhaps some balance is near.
