Cleaner, more efficient, why is it the Liberals want to be globalists and like the Europeans but they balk at this? France, Germany, and other european nations are enjoying cleaner, cheaper energy. Again their hypocrisy know no bounds.

Nuclear power is the future. The ad on this page says clean coal. We can do all.

Yes, unless they become the primary target of terrorism
  • raves +2   [-] Bite Me (XSA) replied to Florida Keys
I cant see how that is a factor? Have you ever worked in one? You cant even go take a piss without an escort!
  • raves +1   [-] Violet replied to Bite Me (XSA)
Actually, that is a question I would ask as well. What would happen if they were targeted from the air or blasted with a rocket launcher?
  • raves +1   [-] Bite Me (XSA) replied to Violet
Rockets couldnt get threw the concrete and steel. The weapons that could are owned by countries and not the terrorist. Iran will soon be able to do it.
  • raves +1   [-] Violet replied to Bite Me (XSA)
This is a great poll. Though the idea of Iran owning such a weapon is frightening, I'm starting to see the value here. Thanks for helping me get my brain in gear this morning - I look forward to actually doing some digging on the subject.

My brother is a nuclear plant inspector - he oversees construction and operations - and at every stage they're in there on average of every three months.

To worry about are the Russian plants - RBMK reactor types - Chernobyl was one. For one thing they won't submit to regular inspections, and for another they're containment is wanting. There are 15 or so in operation.

This is a good site for nuclear energy facts.

They always looked good to me. But then I'm not afraid of good science.

    I remember Chernobyl.
  • raves +1   [-] Bite Me (XSA) replied to Violet
That was one of the first and they dont build like that anymore! Our navy has many reactors with now problems.
  • raves +2   [-] Violet replied to Bite Me (XSA)
Good to know. I know zilch about nuclear power so I can't form an opinion until I educate myself on the subject - hence the "undecided". My views are admittedly based on emotion and not fact. Thanks for the info.

I think the introduction of nuclear power plants were just ahead of their time. They are the SAFEST way to produce power and as long as the government helps with security, I think nuclear power plants can do some real good. Imagine if we had nuclear powered cars or nuclear generators to power single houses
  • raves +1   [-] Violet replied to Evan
Hey Evan, I have a question for you. By government helping with security, do you mean the armed forces? Can you please explain why that would be better than a private contractor supplying security?
