Bill Clinton says Barack Obama must 'kiss my ass' for his support. What do you think about this?
Bill Clinton says Barack Obama must 'kiss my ass' for his supportBill Clinton is so pissed about Barack Obama's victory over his wife Hillary that he has told friends the Democratic nominee will have to beg for his wholehearted support.
Bill Clinton is pissed that Barack Obama beat his wife Hillary
Mr Obama is expected to speak to Mr Clinton for the first time since he won the nomination in the next few days, but campaign insiders say that the former president's future campaign role is a "sticking point" in peace talks with Mrs Clinton's aides.
A senior Democrat who worked for Mr Clinton has revealed that he recently told friends Mr Obama could "kiss my ass" in return for his support.
A second source said that the former president has kept his distance because he still does not believe Mr Obama can win the election.
Mr Clinton last week issued a statement, through a spokesman, in which he said he "is obviously committed to doing whatever he can and is asked to do to ensure Senator Obama is the next president of the United States ".
Mr Obama was more effusive at his unity event with Mrs Clinton on Friday, speaking fondly of the absent former president, who attended Nelson Mandela's birthday celebrations in London instead. The candidate told the crowd: "I know how much we need both Bill and Hillary Clinton as a party. They have done so much great work. We need them badly."
But his aides said he has so far concentrated on cementing relations with Mrs Clinton first. They say they are content to let relations with Mr Clinton thaw gradually.
But his lingering fury has shocked his friends. The Democrat told the Telegraph: "He's been angry for a while. But everyone thought he would not be mad anymore. He hasn't. I've spoken to a couple of people who he's been in contact with and he is mad as hell.
"He's saying he's not going to reach out, that Obama has to come to him. One person told me that Bill said Obama would have to quote kiss my ass close quote, if he wants his support.
Another Democrat said that despite polls showing Mr Obama with a healthy lead over Republican John McCain, Mr Clinton doesn't think he can win.
The party strategist, who was allied to one of the early rivals to Mr Obama and the former First Lady, said Mr Clinton was "very unhopeful" about the nominee's prospects in November.
"Bill Clinton knows the party will unite behind Obama, but he is telling people he doesn't believe Obama can win round voting groups, especially working-class whites, in the swing states," the strategist said.
"He just doesn't think Obama will be able to connect with the voters he needs."

I think both of the Clinton's should have told Obama to go to hell. Hillary put her party first, and that's her biggest flaw. She never stands up to the big guys (not in public anyway). She should switch to Republican and do a good job of trying to influence policies that are more center (verses left/right). She could be a maverick, but she chooses to be defeated over and over again. I really thought Hillary would be stronger against Obama and vow to continue to help her voters by working hard with McCain. -

The only terrorist in these elections, are people like you, who try to divide our great country with lies. I hope that other countries don't believe that the majority of us are as ignorant as you are. This unproductive hate is blinding and pointless. We are examples for other countries and here you are with this antiquated hate, trying to justify it with lies. -

Clinton says he's ready to campaign for Obama
NEW YORK - Former President Clinton says he is ready to campaign for Barack Obama whenever the Democrat needs him.
Relations between Clinton and Obama have only just began to thaw since Obama defeated the former president's wife in the bruising Democratic primary. Throughout that bare-knuckle race, Clinton had portrayed Obama as too inexperienced to be president.
Just weeks ago, Obama called the former president to ask for his help in winning the White House.
Since Obama clinched the nomination, it has remained an open question as to what role Clinton would play in campaigning for him.
Clinton says the timetable is all up to Obama.
He spoke at a Manhattan news conference Thursday about work that his foundation is doing. -

I think Clinton should support Obama only if he truly believes he's a good candidate for president. Backing someone just because they're in the same political party as yourself is ignorant.
Bill Clinton is no longer a political candidate. He shouldn't have to play the game 24 hours a day. -
raves +2 Jul 18, 2008 01:29AM GMTKen.. sorry but I have to agree with Toonmaster on this one. Bill Clinton is no longer the President.. he is a private citizen. The only thing he should do is vote....
but, to relieve any anxiety you may have about his campaigning for Obama.. I'm sure he will... after all he is a narcissist who loves and misses all the attention, and this will give him an opportunity to get some... or, if for no other reason out of respect for his wife's future aspirations within the Democrat Party, which could be hurt if he continues to act childish... I expect you will see him campaigning and at the Convention -

I am glad President Bill Clinton has enough self respect and respect for the voters not to bow down to Obama the Almighty. I am ashamed Hilary has sumited to their presure.
Bill is right Obama should not be elected. I hope the voters wise up before November.
Electing Obama is like asking a high school biology senior to perform open-heart surgery on your Dad instead of selecting the a qualified cardiologist with years of experience.
Obama simply is not qualified to be President and Bill knows it. -

Get a grip. Not everyone is going to agree with you and - believe it or not - that's what makes this country great.
