    It's a great skill to have ! If every you need to shoot deer to kill for food and the way things are going these days!You need to defend your house if an intruder enters uninvited!

    It's been a couple years since I've gone shooting, but I enjoyed it. I agree it is a good skill to have, to know how to shoot, how to safely handle a gun, and the legalities of owning one. I'd like to get one, but I want to learn about the requirements involved in owning one. (How should you store it, what are your responsibilities and obligations as a gun owner, how are you allowed to transport them, how do you maintain them, etc etc. Bet some of you never thought there was so much to owning them!)

    Oh yeah! That' the other part of it!

    I need more practice at that part. *lol* I can hit the target....mostly! I'd have my big brother teach me (he would be so thrilled if his baby sister asked him to teach her something) but I'd be so mortified once he saw I suck at it!

    I regularly go shooting and was trained to shoot by police officers and army men, so I have very good aim. I love going to the range.

    I was taught when I was young by my Marine Corp. father. I have even participated in shooting events as a professional. I don't have the time anymore to comptete. I still enjoy the rare trip to the shooting range.

    Yes! and very well I might add.Where I grew up there were lots of rattle snakes,it was either them or me! Here in the great state of Texas you can have a permit to carry a gun,my husband and son both took the classes and both do!

    I grew up on a farm, and I remember my having the .22 rifle right by the kitchen window so if a cat got up on the chicken coop, she could get rid of it. Chickens were one of our "cash crops".
