Apart from the point where we cant go there, if the laws were diffrent i still wouldnt want to. There stuck with almost everything from 'back in the day' and much poverty. By going there you are spending money that is going to their (pardon my french) fucked up government somehow. In other words there is nothing im dieing to see that is their..
I'm not a fan of the heat, though I'm sure it would be nice.
Actually, there's this Cuban art gallery on Queen West, and it's got some wonderful things in it... and the curator is really awesome, haha, last time I was there, he started singing show tunes, so my friend and I joined it, it was great fun.
I would enjoy their cigars for one day, I am far to outspoken on political matters and would probably become a political prisoner if I stayed much longer...
I have been there three times. Many many years ago.
For a time it was like Hawaii only a lot closer. Now it is a communist hell that sympathizes with the likes of Hugo Chavez and Akminwishhewadeadajob. Not a good place.
A military prison with slaves taking care of the country at the risk of death..
I think it would be facinating to meet these people. The Caribbean is beautiful and I would assume that the Cubans could use some American dollars. As the world grows smaller, we become more aware of our fellow eartlings in need. I would like to extend my hand in friendship and like to hope that seeds of hope are sewn wherever I go.
