Although some can argue that party affiliation elucidates character, for this poll please assume they are not interchangeable and choose one that is utmost important to you.

Good character. In it we can read our individual habits, personality traits, and independent beliefs. I don't think the masses can define you. A group shouldn't be the defining factor when opening your heart to another person.

Character counts more than party affiliation. But party affiliation reflects a sort of belief system and belief systems shape your character. This is not to demonize one party or another because there is good and bad in all parties and all things.

There are good and bad in each party it's just that we see a different road to the same goal. Just like religion, for the most part we have the goal of making a better world but the argument is in how to get there. Reminds me of this song by Judy Collins:

I actually agree with almost everything you said. I think we differ on Feinstein... but of course, I'm a bit biased because I'm a Californian... but good post.

The parties have done nothing but failed us, and we didn't even get cake (sorry for the pun).

I really think we would be far further along if we worked together as people and not as parties. You and I are a great example. We don't agree on lots of political issues, but we still can find far more common ground. Think of all the issues we could solve without this stupid party fight.

Most definately their character. I have known people whose opinions differ from mine. We just agree to disagree. They have turned out to be the dearest of friends, even dearer because the relationship is based on mutual respect.

Both for political choices and social situations, I am more interested in character. Honestly, party means nothing to me, rather it is the individual positions on specific issues that I'm concerned with.
