"V"

Did anyone get to see the show "V" last night? Back in the '80's it ran as a series for quite awhile. The book was pretty good too.
Always have been a Science Fiction fan. The good sci-fi anyway like "V" and Star Trek. Yes, I'm a trekie. lol
Anyway, I thought the show went off well. And the lady "Anna" is double hot. I mean, just how do you say no to her. That's kind'a like Jerri Ryan in Star Trek Voyager saying, "Resistance is futile." Tell me something I don't know. Who would want to resist. lol
You!

I have seen both shows in this new version and have enjoyed it a lot. I did remember there was a short-lived series with that same name some time back but didn't realize it was so long ago, and don't seem to remember even one episode.

Deception and control seem to be the emerging themes.

Yeah, I've enjoyed it so far. The old one I think came on back in the early 80's.

I thought it very good. And it reminded me of how the
anti Christ will be, and not be, received. Although I don't think he'll be an alien. lol

I'm not a sci-fi fan but my husband is and he liked it. I recorded NCIS so he could watch it. He used to watch the old one too. I think he will be a fan but I prefer my NCIS.

I don't like the fact that they put it on at the same time as NCIS. That's one of my favorite shows along with SVU and Criminal Minds.

loved the original series. i don't have anenna or cable so i'll have to wait for the dvd release or if someone posts it on vuze i can download it. I like Marc Singer:) and I thought the original actress who played the lead female alien was rather good, she did a great job being unlikeable and sneaky :) i don't know why they made the lead female in the new one with ultra short hair, the original actress looks way more feminine. i remember the one who played the bad female kryptonian in superman 2 played one of the aliens in V. and of course robert englund "freddy" played the nice one willie :) i got a kick out of that when i first saw the show because i was so use to seeing him play that evil krueger than he played the nice loveable willie :)
special effects or not, usually the originals always end up being the best ones. i think hollywood should get their originality back. seems all they're doing now are remakes "yawn" now they're redoing the karate kid..leave the classics alone...
effects originals hollywood originality remakes yawn karate kid leave classics

You can watch some of the original at: http://www.thewb.com/shows/v/
I gotta disagree on her not being feminine enough. Those hips and hooters looked great to me. lol
They just don't have anything new that is much good. Remaking the classics is the only way for them to make it. lol

thanks:) i have the tv series on dvd, im downloading the original mini series, i have them on vhs tape but im going to transfer them to dvd :)
well, the new one is pretty but i'm a fellow female and i always thought long hair was the best way to go :) i wouldn't know what to do with myself if i cut my hair off lol...it goes to mid thigh. my daughter's hair goes almost to her knees. it's all in the way they style it i guess :)
i wish they would come up with some good originals though. but i guess if the remakes are well done and don't mar the original ones :)

For the most part I've always preferred long hair on a woman myself. The Church I grew up in taught that women were supposed to have long hair. My youngest daughter stayed with me for her last two years of high school. She told me one day that she was going to shave her head. I told her that I would become very hard to live with if she did. When she moved off to college she sent me an envelope with some of her hair in it. lol

sounds like what my daughter will do when she becomes of age. she's only 8 right now. when i first started working at wal mart 9 yrs ago ( i dont work there now) my trainer had very long hair it was as long as mine, and it is not common. i hadn't cut my hair ever in my life so my hair was mid thigh length and hers was too except hers was trimmed on the bottom so it was all straight across. the csm's would always grab our hair and go "heyaw" with it. one day couple years later my then trainer, now friend walked past and her hair was cut off , it was now barely shoulder length. i about fainted dead away. before that, i went to get my hair "trimmed" for the very first time they told me they'd take only 1 inch off, they took 8 inches off so my hair went from mid thigh to barely the middle of my back. i was horrified but it just now has gotten back to where it was. i learned my lesson, never get your hair cut to please other people, i only trimmed it because my then husband would go on and on how beautiful my friend with the long hair was so i thought i'd get my hair trimmed even on the bottom and they hacked me. oh well, you live and you learn :)
sorry for babbling :) should change my name to brooke :)

I kind'a like to babble myself. lol
In the Church I grew up in, it was considered a sin for a woman to cut her hair short. Some wouldn't even cut off the dead ends. That's more of a personal conviction than a Biblical commandment and I never liked how they made it a rule.
My oldest daughter still wears her's long, at least past the shoulders. When I was young, I wore mine about collar length, because that was the style for guys. Glad it changed, cause my hair always had a tendency to curl and wave making me look feminine. I cringe when I see old pictures of myself. Especially, when I used to have a mustache. lol

i grew up in a pentecostal church where like in your church it was a sin to cut your hair. I grew accustomed to having long hair and ive found a way that i can keep my hair up off my neck when need be:) i use the hair sticks half the time.

I went to the Church of God, which is a Pentecostal Church. There were some good people there. Taught Sunday School for awhile.

that's awesome :) i have to force my daughter to go to sunday school sometimes. i would go with her but the weekends are the only time i get to see my husband, i go on wednesday nights when he's out on the road. he didn't get to come home last week so it's been 2 weeks since i've seen him. he comes home tomorrow:) they made him work last weekend and he ended up spending 56 hours just sitting there waiting for a back haul. so he missed out on trick or treat with the kids and he told the company 3 weeks ahead and they agreed but conveniently forgot. oh well...thanksgivings coming up.

church couldn't hurt :) if i don't attend church i still read my bible every day. God is everywhere, doesn't say he is forced to stay inside a building with a cross on it. :)

I didn't like that either. I'm a big fan of NCIS. The new one's pretty good as well. The networks often do that, I guess in trying to compete. For me, they would do better to put their good shows on nights where the others have their sucky shows.
