I know this is a site for discussion. I know that people have the right to block here if they feel the need to.

However, I feel that my blogs are my personal space, they are quite different from questions or news.

Yes, people have the right to RESPECTFULLY disagree with me on my blogs...but not come to my blog, be extremely rude and nasty to me, then block me.

Hmm let me rephrase this. Sure they have a right to block me, however, why can't I remove these nasty comments on my blog?

I equate this to someone spraying graffiti on my rental home, then being told I cannot remove it.

I don't own the home, but it is still my personal space, I should have some power here.

I also think that we should have the option of only allowing our friends to read our blogs, or at the very least having the option of banning some people from our blogs. Sure we can block people here, but they can still view our profile and read and share our blogs.

Again, this is like not having the power to say who gets to come into our rental homes.

Sodahead has potential to be one of the best social websites, but they need to fix a few things.

I understand your feelings about this issue. Ultimately you have the true power Chose to be the better person by ignoring their taunts and balderdash and move on to the people that are really interesting and have quality responses.

I think we should be able to block, we shouldn't have to put up with people we don't want to..however, its rude to go on someones personal space, say nasty stuff, then block them. Its nasty and rude to say intentionally nasty things in a question, then block someone, then send people to bully that person on their blog

But I have seen some annoyingly persistent ones, and blocking is the only way to get them to back off, unless you can think of a temporary way to put a halt to the immediate situation.

I think everyone should have the right to put anyone who is insulting on permanent ignore. I for one, am a strong fan of blocking someone who is rude, nasty, insulting or demeaning. I don't want to open up yet another reply with the same content of hate that the previous one had, and I'm not one for "turning the other cheek" and walking away. I'll let that person know how offensive they were as civilly as possible, and then tell them why they are getting blocked, and then block them permanently. No second chances.

That's actually one change I'd love to see here. Blogs should be more personal. We should have the option of only sharing them with our friends, especially since the rest of the site could care less about what's going on in the personal lives of people they don't know and don't care about.

I completely agree, and I rather liked the simile about rental homes.
I was just recently wondering why we can't remove others' comments on here, and also I'd like it if we could give a thumbs-down to people's comments as well as having the thumbs-up option, like they do on YouTube.

I thought the downrave was the thumbs down. Well, you have to have a reason, unfortunately. I wish they would add more reasons you can downrave people for. I wish we could add these reason's

I think a good number of people on this site have no idea what respect is.
I hate people that say rude shit and than block...it's annoying and only makes them look like cowards.

Did you see what this one chick did to Astoria? They were arguing and this kid posted: "If u don't reply I'm just gonna assume they're worse and ur to ashamed of them to say anything!"....She made sure Astoria couldn't reply by blocking her...some of the kids on this site are so dumb.

You really should be able to remove bad comments.

I like the idea of an option where only friends can read our blogs. I usually don't mind anyone reading my blog, but if I want to talk about something more personal I usually don't bother b/c I don't need commentary from people I don't even know.

Yea, that's why I like to blog on myspace. I can have a preferred list there. However, I love sodahead, I wish I had a bit more privacy.
