    sure is

Even worse is the slow progress and wasted money. there are so many dishonest people profiting at the peoples exspense. I dont think they can survive another hit.It will crumble the city.

    Undecided

I am sure you mean 'hit' in a general sense. Katrina did not hit NO, if it had it would have wiped out the city not just flooded it. It is a shame that it looks like it will get the devastating side of this hurricane. At least Gov J is doing the right things (Blanco and the mayor of NO behavior in Katrina was beyond reprehensible - even telling fed didn't need help, disgusting how little they cared about their citizens) Gov J has said get out and get out fast - no reason to stay, transportation provided - exactly what should be done in the face of a hurricane. They call them the gentleman storm because there is so much warning. We should all pray for the people of Louisiana - it is going to be a rough ride.

    sure is

Not just Louisianna but Mississippi and Alabama. The media ohly focused on New Orleans but there are still churches sending volenteers monthly to do repairs on the homes destroyed by Catrina. At least this time people are taking it seriously.

You are right, Mississippi took a terrible hit with Katrina but because they went to work helping each other, they got little press.

    very sad

It seems like high time to move to a less dangerous part of the country; especially if hurricanes are going to become more common to the area.

    very sad

Somehow, I don't think the "doesn't strike twice" thing applies to enormous buildings that act like oversized lightning rods! LOL

Poor Louisiana... Think Dubya will let this develop into half the debacle we saw last time???
act oversized lightning rods lol poor louisiana dubya develop debacle

Better you blame the people who actually left their people to die - Mayor Nagin and Gov Blanco. You do realize that they told the feds they didn't need help even after Katrina hit Mississippi? Now I think the feds were woefully slow after the fact but the blame should be placed first on those two for doing nothing.

It will be fine - we Louisianians are a hearty breed. My step father built a bunker out of two welded together old bread trucks, buried it in the ground (on a hill), hooked it up with food, a generator, and a toilet "area." They'll be fine.
