Follow-up on the Law and Order show.

I was amazed they showed both sides of the abortion issue so well. For any who missed it, it was a take-off on the Dr. Tiller murder. I've always been able to see both sides of an issue, but it has taken me awhile to see the pro-choice side of this one. For me, abortion is still one of the worse things out there. I do have compassion for women who find themselves pregnant and the guy skips out on them, but the child has done nothing wrong. Murder hardly seems an acceptable alternative.
Most of the time, they try to paint us pro-lifers as evil and when one of us kills an abortionist, it gives the other side fuel to throw on the fire. I would be very interested in some figures showing how many deaths of abortionists and how much violence has been done in the name of being pro-life. Wonder if it comes close to the number of children who have died in the name of a woman's right to privacy.
You!

Off the issue a bit, but I heard Obama say today that " If one of my daughters messes up I would not want them stuck with a baby" (paraphrased a bit) I couldn't believe I heard him correctly. It was so ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,hard to believe I could actually hear that come out of the President of the United states own mouth.

The religious issue is moot to me, since I dont believe. So that leaves my personal morals.
I believe killing is wrong, doctors AND/OR unborn children. This is my choice.
I am male, and will never have to make the decision on whether to keep a baby after being raped, or molested. I would like to think I would carry the child to term, and then give it up for adoption. Since I will never reach that bridge, I will never know how or if I would ever cross it.

I agree with you that killing is wrong. Personally, I didn't cry any tears over Dr. Tiller. Though I disagree with his murder, I don't know what my reaction would be if a doctor took the life of my child or grandchild. That's one of those things you just have to live through to know. Since I do believe in God, I know that people such as Dr. Tiller will get what's coming to them.
Take care and thanks for participating.

I want to know what happens to the oath of saving lives that these doctors take when they graduate from Med school. I took an oath when I graduated from nursing school to comfort and heal not to destroy human lives. These abortionists are murderers. If they were performing abortions for mothers that had stillborns in them and it was a matter of life or death to continue a pregnancy, ok . But they are removing fetuses that are well on their way to being a child of God, and having a life to choose what they want to be and do and how they will serve God. Only problem is how they are raised in the years they have to reach their goals. Some will go towards good and some will go bad. Some are abused every step of the way and some don't make it at all. Life is very hard when you live in poverty and with people who don't want you. I wish more girls would chose adoption because so many couples unable to have children want them and will love them and give them a good home.

I have a friend who is pro-choice that uses the example of people growing up to become criminals because they were born to families that don't love them or don't take care of them. But, to me, abortions giving someone the death sentence for something they might do wrong.
Most people believe that late-term abortions are horrible, but that's just because the child is further along in it's development. Take, for example, is it less wrong for someone to slap or beat a younger child than an older child? Or is it equally wrong to hurt any child, regardless of it's age or development? To me, life begins at conception and all human life is sacred. If we're going to take it, then we'd better have good reason. I believe we'll all stand before our creator one day and give an account for our lives. I would not want to stand before Him for being an abortionists.

I know. And yet so many who claim to be children of God heard him say that and still support him. I just don't understand.

I was born to a single mother who already had two children and couldn't afford me. She adopted me to a wonderful woman who raised me as her own. For a long time I did have some resentment that this lady still won't admit to being my birth mother, even though we've known each other all my life. Today I stand in awe of the sacrifice. Having had children of my own, I can't imagine having to give one away. I know how much this lady loves her two kids and how much she cares for me. Abortion was never an option for her. Thank God.

But did you resent her later in life and become dependent?

I resented the whole family for awhile after my mother died. I knew part of the truth and knew that they could fill in the blanks. One of them told me she would confirm whatever I knew. But, I only knew who my mother was and not my father, so that really wasn't much help. There's still some resentment, but I love them all, so I had to be the bigger person and bury the hatchet. Today, I still go by my real mother's house and call her my cousin and call my brother and sister my cousins.

I ask this because my grandson has never met his father and, now at 17, is angry and I question his need to find him. I've made attempts to locate him but he was an Army Sargeant and married at the time of conception and wanted no-one to know of the pregnancy especially his wife and two daughters. But my grandson knows he has two sisters somewhere and wants to know why this man wanted nothing to do with him. My search is difficult because my daughter knows nothing about him except his name and that prompted over 2000 men with the same name. Plus, the Army camp they were in, is closed.

Those would be some very interesting numbers, and an even more interesting comparison.

I read a story of a doctor who claims to have aborted upwards of forty thousand abortions. That's a higher death toll than the Iraq war has, even if you tally up both sides. And that's just one doctor.

Wow, I just find that hard to believe. Forty thousand? At some point during those procedures, wouldn't he realize what he was doing and just stop?

I remember reading an article about him about a year ago. At the time he claimed the number was over thirty-nine thousand, but he wasn't sure about the exact number. I read another story about a female doctor who preformed over forty thousand illegal abortions before roe v wade. Claims she never lost a patient. Guess the forty some thousand fetuses didn't count. If I'm not mistaken Dr. Tiller, the one who was shot recently, had preformed over thirty-five thousand.

That just blows my mind. That many lives lost; those doctors just did not have souls.
