"Drunken man awakes inside garbage truck"

William M. Bowen woke up after a night of drinking with friends and realized he was inside a commercial trash-collection truck full of waste.
The driver had just emptied a commercial trash bin into his truck and was about to activate its compactor when he heard Bowen screaming.
"He looked up and this gentleman was standing out the top of our truck," said Larry Green, market safety supervisor for the Rumpke waste disposal company. Green said the only thing Bowen said to the driver was that he was cold.
"This gentleman was extremely intoxicated," he said.
Bowen told police he had been drinking with buddies at a Muncie bar until about 3 a.m. Thursday. But he said he didn't recall how he ended up inside the trash bin, and he wouldn't tell police who his drinking pals were.
Bowen was treated for minor injuries.
"I'm just glad it turned out the way it did," Green said. "We didn't have a body that was dead. We had a body that was talking."
There was no telephone listing for Bowen in the Muncie area.

    It just goes to show you drunk people are stupid when they are drunk. They could have killed him but since they didn't it is funny. Serves him right. Hopefully he learned that there is such a thing as too drunk.

    The biggest thought that crossed my mind is if he is still drinking today....that would have had a very sobering effect on me...not to mention people who are drunk usually snore...which means they have their mouth Wide open...Yuck

    I have a true story. About 15 years ago, my parents sanitation collectors were collecting the garbage on the street. What happened was one of the guys was dumping the trash in the back and somehow fell into the truck, his partner started up the trashing mechanism and the other guy was killed by being crunched to death.

    LOL! I once woke up in the middle of a highway in Jersey. Nobody even stopped their car to pull me over to the side. I guess they thought I was road kill. I almost was.

    drinking so changes a human to sub human...I hope he gets help..my bro did not get that bad but he drank most every day after WW2.....he made a good living but was mostly a sad human being
