I think it's a good thing for if someone is continually harassing you.

Well, It depends on what is being blocked! If someone is being extremely rude then you should block them! but if it is some stupid fight, why not just ... "give in" and apologize and try to make friends again! Friends ARE Better than Enemies after all! I managed to make friends with someone on sodahead who called me some hurtful names and said hurtful things, and i even brought another friend into the fight. but instead of trying to block her, I apologized, and we finally made friends, instead of going through all that trouble of blocking each other!

Most people just move on if they have a discussion with someone that's not going anywhere, or if it becomes somewhat hostile, negative or just plain nasty. Usually the people who block are the disgruntled who just can't come to terms when others disagree with them, or is saying something that they can't intelligently reply. So blocking is almost like cursing you, it's also a cowards way out when they speak their piece, but don't allow the other person to respond.

If when you blocked someone on a poll, you could not write back to them then it would be o.k. But as it is when someone doesn't like your opinion they block you and then that person and their friends go on to write nasty stuff to you and you can't reply.

If you do not want someone to have freedom of speech and take it away from them, then yours should be taken away.

I find it odd that you say libs use it. I am a lib and I don't use blocking but have been blocked by nasty little republicans to many times to count..

If you were to be honest you would admit there are always some from all political parties who want their say then block anyone with a view different from their own.

You most likely are right . i have only blocked one woman that i never had any words with . she made a commit and when i went to answer i was blocked so i just blocked her.

That makes me crazy when people do that. They keep talking and insulting and you can't reply..Grrr..That woman that blocked you just didn't want anyone commenting to her that wasn't in total agreement with her..It would be pretty boring and sad if we all thought exactly the same, like all the same things. Heck why would we bother to talk since we all had the same thoughts..Some people are just strange.

You can tell me you disagree with me even think my thinking is crazy and I won't block you unless you would stalk me..

I don't use it personally, but there are some creeps out there that deserve to be kicked off the site. Since we always get what we want, blocking is the next best thing.

In the case of them stalking you they should be kicked off and definately blocked. I think that is the only reason to block.

Blocking is anyone's right on here, but a lot of people abuse the privilege by blocking people they disagree with or who don't share the same opinion.
