It has been three short years since we became husband and wife. I remember the first time that you said you would be mine and the feelings of joy that filled my heart to know you were willing to commit to me until the length of our days were fulfilled. To be able to spend the rest of my life with you gives me something to look forward to day after day.

It is these thoughts that help to pull me out of my black moods. It is this thought that gives me hope knowing that you will be with me until my last breath. I am so glad you found me, for you have changed my life for the better. The sun shines brighter, the bird’s song is more beautiful and I see the world in a whole new light because of you. When you are by my side as our love deepens and grows it is activated by our concern to care for each other in all that we do.

To take each others thought into consideration before we speak the idle words that may cut. We know once those words are spoken that they can not be taken back so we let them fall to the ground. Leaving no damage to our relationship as they do so. I remember how we first met, you could not stand this arrogant man that stood before you. I could not stand the intelligent woman who intimidated me with her well thought out conversation.

You sought to dethrone my thoughts about women that reigned in my mind. Through the years you have done so and more. You have opened me up to the thoughts of new and endless possibilities. You shone the light and opened my eyes causing me to see new wonders and new dreams. For that I am forever grateful. Without you in my life I may truly have ended up in the gutter somewhere a shallow man not worth much.

But you my love have greatly enriched my life with your wit and sometimes sarcastic humor. You complete me and make me a whole person. Even though we have only been married three years we have been together for several more before we made that sacred commitment to each other. We have watched our children grow and bring us the joy of being grandparents and the happiness that they bring.

It has been exceptionally wonderful in the last several years in our house because the kids are grown and on their own. We love the quiet times we get to share and the peace that now resides in our home. Eve though when we are together we may be doing separate things in the same room, but we are together and that brings my heart comfort knowing that you are near me.

Today my love I want to take the time to acknowledge you and render honor unto you for you are the true love of my life. My soul mate, the one I had been searching for all these years. Your promise that you will be with me for the rest of our days brings my heart great joy and comfort.

But lets face it honey I got the better end of the bargain and now you are stuck with me, ha ha. You do so many things for me and I am grateful for all that you do. I just wanted to take the time and acknowledge your outstanding achievements that you have brought into my life. You therefore are the honorary recipient of the “Greatest Wife Who Ever Lived Award!!” Here’s to the rest of our lives together, I love you honey now and forever.
