Disabled vet. Worked for 30 years before 'Nam related wounds, injuries, and Agent Orange finally took me out. Over 30 surgical procedures. 8 years into my 2nd marriage with 2 kids of my own and 2 of my wife's.

All good. I'm able to get vertical and they're OK.

    Served in Nam as well, radio comms at Naval Support Fac in Danang 70-71... Army helo pilot needed to land his craft and somehow he got on my freq but it wasnt my job to clear him. We dealt with message traffic, not landing aircraft. When he did land he looked for me cuz he was pissed and wanted to kick my ass... this guy was like 6'4", wore a cowboy hat with a giant feather in the band...scared me shitless. I just remember looking up at him thinking God thats a lot of green and thanking God he was on the other side of the wall. That guy coulda been you.

    When I got my clearances, which are absolutely nothing compared to his, they interviewed my 1st grade teacher and neighbors I hadn't seen since I was 5.

    A refill of my morphine pump every 5 weeks @ the VA is $430. In the private MD's office, Medicare gets billed $6,000; exact same stuff. No competition.

    Why are we denying these companies the right to compete with Co-ops or public insurance? Because they just don't want competition; they want things their way, at their prices and are handing us the bill. We're paying it to the tune of 16% of our GDP @ $7,800/person, with how many millions uninsured that taxpayers cover when they show up at the ER's.

    No competition. So 'no competition' is 'The American Way'? What's wrong with this picture?     (more)
