    Post-rock and indie rock. I love indie rock and I can't get enough of it. The bands are SO great and have a pretty big fan-base, but they never make the charts in the US. That's okay though! They know I ♥ them. :P

    Though I'm not sure if it's really "underground", but Ska music. I'm a HUGE fan of Ska and the only three well known Ska bands are Sublime, No Doubt, and Social D. =\

    Well yes. That was the point I was aiming for. >< The Ska bands I listen to are Catch 22, Less Than Jake, Reel Big Fish, Streetlight Manifesto.

    I don't listen to any underground music.

    I play four instruments, won a piano concerto competition at 14, several musical composition contests at 16, and toured Europe with an orchestra at 18...and I don't even know what "underground music" is. Sad, isn't it?

    I define it as any music that is created for music's sake, not with the intention of commercial success, and also expands on the genre. Underground music generally is not going to be played on your local radio station or on MTV.

    exactly!... alot of time underground artists are the best out there but they just never get famous.. cuz all the crummy ppl are out there getting on the radio for crap... but i am NOT at all saying everything on the radio is crap.. cuz its definitely not... im just trying to say i think its stupid how people can get famous when their not any good...

    yes it definitely is.. but just because someone can PLAY music doesn't necessarily mean they know anything about it other than technical stuff. just realax and hangout at some little shows n stuff you'll get the hang of it

    The big one I can mention in this category is an industrial band from Seattle called Kandles at Nine. Last I'd heard though they're starting to tour with and open for some bigger bands in that area. Hopefully they'll get a break and become a little more well-known. I'd like to hear them someplace other than MySpace.
