This Darkness Still

Was it worth it
Not to me it never did
In this life I never could
find my way
I was always looking
for a way out
Why would you let me in
After all the things I have done
After all the places I have been
And still you call
You always knew
I would fall
Were you still there for me
What else would I see
What else is there left
The past is the key
to the future
But I could not
understand in time
There was nothing left of me
You said there was
and I went on
To live this life anew
Still I cannot forget
the blood on my hands
A life forsaken
And when someone
talks about dreams
it is a nightmare to me
You ask
Will I do it again
Time will tell
If I ever will
Until then
I am living in darkness still
