    Oi!

    I was always a fan of Blitz, the Business and the Sham 69 stuff I could get my hands on 20 years ago, which was not much. There were a lot of other bands, and some of them were even good. It's good that guys like the Dropkick Murphy's are keeping what was good about Oi! alive, and leaving alot of the crap behind.

    It's what the British punkies started in the 70's

    It became a genre or known as street punk

    And movement for street punks and skinheads.

    Their lyrics were about rights, oppression to authority and anarchism-- you know, punk stuff.

    Oi actually means "hey" in cockney

    And then came the Cockney Rejects who first used it in their lyrics

    But Sham69 was the first Oi band.
