    Yes

They don't fit the stereotypical punk sound, but they were there at the beginning with bands like the Ramones and the Talking Heads at CBGB's, way back when. The sound wasn't punk, but the attitude definitely was.

I've never been a fan of Blondie, so I wouldn't know what they are classified as.

At first they were headed that way. As BK said, the attitude was there, but the music went the commercial way. I do have just about every old Blondie LP though. Just because they weren't punk doesn't mean they weren't good.

I never viewed blondie as a punk band, plain and simple. It was a diffenent time then and punk wasn't has defined, or over defined as it is now. Although i will still contend that Blondie was not a punk band. No quarterflash isn't either :) simple diffenent punk defined defined contend blondie punk band quarterflash

    I agree.
The loud and fast punk sound started by the Ramones was not all there was to it. Attitude was everything.
A lot of the punk pioneers were neither loud or fast. Talking Heads, Richard Hell, Television, Patti Smith.

All great punk pioneers, even if they don't fit the mold.
