About Me

I am a small business owner, wife, mother, sister and oldest child-turned family matriarch. My life is busy, happy, chaotic and wonderful. I believe in God first and foremost and put my family second and my business/community third. I admit I am among the newly awakened in the last 4 years, but I was well educated before that and have only increased my level of knowledge since then.

I'd like to meet

Christ. I know this is cliche, but it's true for me.
Prime Minister Netanyahu. I think he is a reasonable man in an unreasonable world.
Glenn Beck. I also think he's a genuine man of common sense in a world of senseless people.

Interests

I love to read. I read everything: fiction, non-fiction, historical, economics, fantasy and young adult fiction. I read everything my kids read so I know what they're learning.

I love movies and music. My husband has thousands of movies we've collected over the years and backed up on hard drive in case the discs get ruined. I love to sing and think a men's chorus is the most beautiful sound in the universe. Music is a constant companion for me.

I am recently interested in gardening. I'm dying to plant, grow and harvest a garden of our own. Maybe next year.

I am a total prepper. I believe in food storage, planning for disaster, having 72 hour kits and emergency supplies on hand at all times.

Favorite Quotes

I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it. I observed…that the more public provisions were made for the poor, the less they provided for themselves, and of course became poorer. And, on the contrary, the less was done for them, the more they did for themselves, and became richer.”
—Benjamin Franklin

Laissez faire, morbleu! Laissez faire!! [4] (Trans: "Leave it be, that should be the motto of all public powers, as the world is civilized ... That we cannot grow except by lowering our neighbors is a detestable notion! Only malice and malignity of heart is satisfied with such a principle and our (national) interest is opposed to it. Leave it be, for heaven's sake! Leave it be!)
—Marquis d'Argenson

I never said it would be easy, I only said it would be worth it.

Christ, my dad, my husband and every service person in the military. I have more, but I'll have to come back and list them later.
