Zero Electric Motorcycles: Total electric motorcycle awesomeness?

Zero Motorcycles is the first company to unveil the all electric motorcycle that is street legal. Their "Zero S" has street legal tires, 31 horses and 62.5 lb's per foot if torque. Not bad for an electric motorcycle. The Zero S has a top speed of 60 mph, so I wouldn't take it on more highways, but for city cruising it's great. The batter on the Zero S lasts for about 60 miles and recharges in less than 4 hours, with a final cost of just under $10K.

What do you think about Zero Motorcycles 'Zero S'?

Not bad. Since the mid-1980's I had "ideas" of an electric M/C. That white-plastic "body-work" looks "cheesey". Anodized aluminum would look nice. 60 mph is OK. I ride a 1981 Honda 400 around town.

If you're a pantywaist who has never ridden a motorcycle because,oooooooooh, they're soooooo dangerous, then you're also going to go to the grave as a sniveling wimp who misses out on the great things in life. I'll bet you won't let your kid go out on a bicycle without a helmet, if you even let him ride one of those dangerous contraptions! You're probably the dork behind this "in loco parentis" seat belt law that we all have to follow now. And to top it all off, you probably voted for Obama.

I've been riding an electric bike for about 2 years now. It is the BEST! 35mph, 40 mile range, goes on buses and trains.

I have a H/D 1200 Sportster. I won it in a raffle for "MS". It is a bunch of fun, but you have to lookout for all the bad drivers.

I dont think I would want an electric bike.

I think it's good that it's electric, but there's no excuse for the small driving range. One of the oil companies holds the patent, etc, for better batteries, as GM discovered with the EV-1 electric car. The car, even without the better batteries, had a range of over 120 miles.

This is a made to order ride for a large city like New York. Driving a car there, no matter what it is powered by, is an awful experience for someone who enjoys driving, and traffic is so bad you can walk there faster anyway. Unless of course, you don't mind a ride with one of those Kama Kazi Taxi drivers............

It sounds great and will help to reduced carbon-based emissions, but motorcycles get great gas mileage as it is, so I don't see too many riders storming the dealerships for this thing.

I am an old granny but I think motercycles elecric Zero S are real cool. The most danger is when you don't wear the clothing etc. and not acting Evil Knevil. :-)

IT'S CRAP.................60 mi on a FOUR (4)
hour charge. I get better results from a flashlight.

Buy a Harley or a URAL or even a rice rocket (gasoline al the way baby)
