If you're going to be cruel to an innocent animal, I don't care how nice you are to anyone else--treating animals horribly is not OK; it is repugnant and abominable. And also, torturing animals is often a sign of psychological problems (maybe even serial killers).

May be, or may be not? But, I do believe the animals can tell more about a person treatment of them in a few seconds than we can in days, weeks, or years.. I have known people that treat other people badly, but treat their animals very well.

One of the most morally evolved people I ever met was a lady who would not kill a spider she found in her home. She would catch and release it outdoors.

I would say that generally that is true, however I have encountered numerous people who have little dogs in their company, but are the meanest, foul-mouthed, hateful people. In my profession I have to deal with a certain group of individuals. I used to believe that if they have a small dog with them as a companion, they are ok. Sadly, in the past several months that has not been the case at all.

It is somewhat true. I would never want to associate with someone who was cruel to animals, but there are plenty of people who just don't like animals or are afraid of them who are lovely people. Another type of person that I would not want to be around are the insanely obsessed animal lovers who want to rip you apart if you don't put animals first above all else. Those freaks are just as bad as abusers when it comes to offensive personalities.

Yes and no. I think people who treat animal well usually have good hearts and vice versa, but know my brother who is a sweetheart hates pets. Not a surefire rule.

some mean people still love animals, but at least they love something. Most people who love animals and take care of them have some decency towards people in them. Some people learn to love other people by loving animals first.

Some yes, some no.

I know folks that have pets and are A Holes
I know folks that don't own pets and are very kind and compassionate.

We don't have a pet in our house right now, but we are kind to animals.
There's not a dog anywhere that doesn't want to hang with me. He knows there's going to be food somewhere close by.

Animals are an excellent judge of character! Anyone who mistreats animals would also mistreat people. I rank a person who abuses animals in the same class as those who abuse children - both are defenseless against the attack. Our country needs to have much stronger laws regarding animal abuse = I truly believe that animal abuse is the gateway to people abuse. Stop them as soon possible.

On another note, If you start to date a new person and your pet doesn't take to them - heed that warning. Pets are great judges of character, as are little children. A small child will also tell you exactly what they think of your new friend, LOL.

I had some neighbors like that. It literally made me cry a couple of times. Sick. Nobody could do anything about it because there was nothing you could prove. Their only child, a son, grew up and at 18 (and already an alcoholic) moved away and never spoke to his parents again. They couldn't figure out why.

I've seen people that were kind to animals but were psychopaths. I have also seen people that treated animals cruelly but were kind and decent to most people. I think both are pretty much exceptions but like with most things, you cannot make generalizations and be 100% right. Hell, I've even seen a couple of liberals that were just misguided and not complete morons.

I will take humans any day including beautiful babies and wonderful children they actually grow up to be productive members of society you can't say that for dogs and cats. They may be part of the family but never get past the mental capacity of age 4.

I have literally seen this.People who are self absorbed and mean inside are usually mean and hateful towards Animals.and also,Animals can identify a hypocrite in a second,and they won,t have anything to do with them,even if they try to put up a front and act nice.

I've heard that animals can get a sense about people. But there's some people that love animals more than people. Hitler was an animal rights activist. Not a good person. http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/... Better rule of thumb isn't trusting someone that gets along with animals but being careful of people who upset animals.

Poor dog. Even the dog got the short end of the deal. Years ago it was rumored in Germany and here that his girlfriend didn't want to commit suicide with Hitler. It made sense, she supposedly was given a pill and then a shot to the head by Hitler, perhaps he wanted to make sure she was dead, more than she hoped. Ichhhh. I always thought it would be horrible to catch the eye of Hitler because how do you say no not interested...., even the dog couldn't get away, I guess Hitler thought the dog would talk.

I'm not sure. I heard they all shook hands, I think she was with him. She tried to commit suicide in something like 1933 and she was, like, too good of a German to die? So he decided to pay more attention to her? I don't know. They were nuts.
