Why would it matter if she wants to be a mommy. Being a parent is wonderful.

Yahoo? I still use it cuz I'm too lazy to shop for another email service. Otherwise it seems to be going the way of AOL and CompuServe.

What matters is whether or not she can do the job. Apparently, the Yahoo shareholders, or at least the Board thinks she can and THAT is all that matters!

If she's successful, everyone will think all women can do it. If she fails, it's because she has too many responsibilities. Mayer is a rare woman; most people couldn't do all of what she'll have to do without running ragged.

Let's say her baby needs extra care. How is she going to divide her time.

It appears that maternal love is taking second shrift in this situation. I think the baby will grow up with anxiety problems unless she gets a good nanny, but then, the baby will look at the nanny as mommy.

Not knocking her skills or intelligence but she may not be able to give as much to the company that's needed.

Meh... If everyone hasn't noticed, Yahoo is circling the toilet currently and is just waiting the final rinse. She'll just oversee the dismantling and selling of the company's holdings and patents. I figure she can do that well enough on maternity leave.

She's a very talented woman. Yahoo made an excellent choice. I don't doubt she can handle being a CEO and a new Mom. Good luck to her on both ventures.

Meh..whatever....big deal. She is a woman about to have a child. *gasp* That is just soooo unusual!!! Then again, she's no longer a spring chicken and will probably have to take more time off from work if she isn't careful (I sincerely hope this isn't the case and she has a very healthy pregnancy and delivery) BUT...she's a CEO AND a woman, this isn't anything new!
