Since the Pledge of Allegiance

And The Lord's Prayer !

Are not allowed in most

Public schools anymore

Because the word 'God' is mentioned.....

A kid in Arizona wrote the attached

NEW School prayer:

Now I sit me down in school

Where praying is against the rule

For this great nation under God

Finds mention of Him very odd.

If scripture now the class recites,

It violates the Bill of Rights.

And anytime my head I bow

Becomes a Federal matter now.

Our hair can be purple, orange or green,

That's no offense; it's a freedom scene..

The law is specific, the law is precise.

Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.

For praying in a public hall

Might offend someone with no faith at all..

In silence alone we must meditate,

God's name is prohibited by the state.

We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,

And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks...

They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.

To quote the Good Book makes me liable.

We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,

And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.

It's 'inappropriate' to teach right from wrong,

We're taught that such 'judgmen! ts' do not belong..

We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles..

But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.

It's scary here I must confess,

When chaos reigns the school 's a mess.

So, Lord, this silent plea I make:

Should I be shot; My soul please take!

Amen
You!

Your wrong on that. Kids have been expelled for praying and haveing groups of prayer in hallways on school property. And no schools say the Pledge of Allegance anymore, I know as my wife works for the scool system.

I really don't know where you live, but I'm still in school (11th grade) and we still say the pledge and are given the chance to pray through the moment of silence. Although, I choose not to do either, I still have the right to and that is what matters.

Every school I have been to is the same. This is in public schools.

I can't believe that a LAW SUIT has not been filed. There is no way, with the liberal ACLU running around that your school (A PUBLIC SCHOOL), still does those things.

It's not violating any laws. You are just simply given the chance to do those things, which I support. They don't directly come out and say that the moment of silence is for prayer, but that's just common knowledge.

Again, you are kidding. Back in the early 80's, when I was a Freshman, even a 'Moment of Silence' was banned so as to placate a law suit brought on by a "LONE" (i.e.: Look up the word ONE) Liberal Atheist who objected to it.

One has to wonder why America bows down to 'Political Correctness'. It is ruining this great, powerful Nation.

Boy are you wrong. Kids have freedom in school for damn near everything except religion. They can wear just about anything they want except a visible cross or a picture of Jesus. That will get the expelled.

Thank you Daniel....Right here in my town my son was told he couldn't use God for
his hero in a project that the School was doing....I don't need some young little whipper snapper trying to tell me what is and isn't allowed. God is being taken out of everything.

Well I mtght have jumped the gun in my comment. I bought my son some religious items and gave them to him. He told me he couldn't wear them. As my son has never lied to me I took his word. I just read his school policy and now what to kick his ArrrrrS.

However much has been removed and I believe much more will be. Here's something which can not be denied and shows what is being taken and what is being given.

    d. TEACHING ABOUT RELIGION
Public schools are not allowed to teach religion, but they can teach ABOUT religion. They can teach subjects like the history of religion, the role of religion in U.S. history and that of other countries' histories.

I stand corrected. I took my son at his word and now Hell represent Jesus at school tomorrow or get the Hell out of my house. : )
