You know those rad sneakers that laced up automatically and belonged to Marty McFly from "Back to The Future II"? Yeah, they may become a reality soon.

On Wednesday night, "Back to The Future" producer Frank Marshall tweeted "Going to need a lot of hoverboards" and then linked to a YouTube video called "McFly's Closet" posted by Nike. The contents of the video? Shelves of Nike's newest unreleased shoes called Nike Air Mags, which look a lot like Marty McFly's futuristic footwear.

To top it off, the popular shoe company recently hosted an invite-only event in Los Angeles, where gift bags containing futuristic sunglasses, a 1985 Pepsi bottle and a copy of "Back to The Future" were handed out.

It's no surprise that Twitter is in a frenzy over these sneaks. "Back to The Future" started trending overnight. Heck, even sports stars can't hide their excitement! NBA player Kevin Durant tweeted "I need some new shoes. Any recommendations? Think, McFly, think!"

Don't play with our emotions, Nike! You better deliver on these epic shoes -- or else we're going to be pissed!

But the future does look bright. Turns out, Nike has patented technology for an automatic lacing system since last year.

Would you wear the "Back to The Future" sneaks?

I clicked the wrong one, but so far they shoes are going to be auctioned off with proceeds going to the Michael J. Fox Foundation. Hopefully they put them for general sale, with proceeds from that going to the foundation as well. I'd get them for sure.

while they certainly are cool-lookin, they will almost be guaranteed to carry a hefty price tag as well which leaves them out of the question on my shoppin list for shoes.

i doubt nike would ever invent time machine shoes. if it could be done, they would WAAAY too expensive for anyone to buy and really dangerous in the wrong hands.

I'm sorry i just can't get into the follow me like sheep,routine but if people want to look like freeks and hollywood liberal sheep headed for near brain death it's ok with me.i dont wear tennisshoes because when you kick someone in the --- the shoe bends and can cause broken bones,and i don't like stinkin feet from the cheap chineese rubber filled with all kinds of deadly chemicals they can't get rid of other than in tennis shoes,real leather is the best protection from loss management from stupidity,i can buy more cheap burgers with money saved from buying a dip sticks use of forign slave labor that makes the brunt of their profits ,but thats just my opinion.and i'll stick with it.

Great idea, they'll make tons of money, but I wouldn't be caught dead wearing them.
