Would You Spend $450 on Pizza?

Just the other day, we told you about the pizza vending machines that are coming to the U.S. Today, we have slightly sillier pizza news: at least one "very rich person" is willing to spend $450 on a pie!

 450 pizza

The pizza, called C6, was created by Nader Hatami, owner and founder of Steveston Pizza Co. in Canada. It features lobster thermidor and black Alaska cod, with a side of Russian Osetra caviar, The Province reports.

While Hatami has only sold one C6, he has sold seven C5s at $120 a pop: This pie is made with roasted garlic, Icelandic scampi, smoked steelhead and lobster ratatouille. "I never thought I’d sell so many," Hatami told The Province. "The idea was to make a culinary statement." Assuming you're part of the 99 percent, most of Hatmai's pies start at $14. Would you ever spend $450 on a pizza?

No, but I'll definitely sell my pizza for that much...then again, I make wicked pizza.

It's just a gimmick for publicity.

How about instead they purchase the $10 deal .. and donate the rest of the cost to their Local Pantry that helps Disabled Military Veterans .. or Disabled/Elders in need?

I have been around this globe and I had the pleasure of indulging on real Italian pizza. Maron!!!! great taste and nothing like the pizza here in the states.
There is a place in California that was showing on tv cooking channels where some restaurant makes pizza with caviar and some other crazy stuff like lobster etc... Price!!!!!!!! $1000.00 per pizza. Crazy people that just have too much money and do not know how to spend it.

I've got better things to spend $450 on, like rent.

I split it with a couple of other people. It's actually closer to $350, but the extra $100 would go to cover utilities. B-)

Thats way to much money! Now if I had multi millions, 450 would be literally nothing, so it would be more like a status thing. Just on principle I would not buy this even if I had that much money.

Why pay $450 dollars when Chicago and New York will make you out of this world pizza for $30.00. Maybe less. A whole pizza!

I love pizza and I love seafood, but that sounds absolutely disgusting.

When I think of dropping $450 on a meal (never have, but if I ever do) it would have to be top quality food, service and atmosphere and something worthy of pairing with a bottle of Opus One or similar. Pizza? Get real. Maybe Kobe beef, lobster, caviar, etc.

You were wise. Most of the food we bought at those stands inside the the attraction areas was fairly underwhelming and overpriced.

Best food we had there was at Fulton's Crab House.

Disney food used to be of fairly high quality, and fairly reasonably priced for being inside a theme park. Then they started their dining plan crap, quality dropped, all the venues that accept the dining plans became over crowded, and prices soared.

    Ah. That makes sense.

Seems to be the demise of many industries, doesn't it? Mass produce for a set low fee under a contract and watch the quality plummet.

I'll keep that in mind. Thanks. The Rain Forest is a pretty cool place. Should be easy to remember.

I've always wanted to decorate a kid's room to look like the Rain Forest Cafe.

pizza was never meant to become something expensive. in the beginning pizza was for poor people and they would just put what they had on it... besides I can make amazing pizza in my own kitchen so I dont need anyone else to make it for me

I wouldn't but heard somebody bought a $25 cup of coffee at Starbucks. I'd put a matching luxury tax on it at least though.
