OK, we're a little bit curious to see if Will and Kate's "royal" wedding cake was really that much more delicious than the ones mere mortals serve at their weddings. But we still wouldn't spend $1,620 for a year-old slice. Four days after the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s first wedding anniversary, a piece of their eight-tiered fruit cake is going up for auction on Thursday with a starting bid of $162, the "Today" show reports (but the final price is expected to hit the high four figures).

The cake, which featured almost 900 frosting flowers, was served at a lunchtime reception for close friends and family, according to "Today." The slice that's up for grabs comes in a white and gold tin, along with a note that reads "With best wishes from TRH (Their Royal Highnesses) The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall in celebration of the wedding of TRH the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge."
For your money, you'll also receive the 16-page "Order of Service" from Westminster Abbey, which includes the vows, hymns and prayers from the wedding. In 2008, one buyer paid $1,830 for a slice of Charles and Diana's wedding cake. Would you pay almost as much for a taste of modern royal life?

Oh please!
The question said "spend", not "eat". Either way i will get the piece of cake and make some profits.
