Would You Serve Imported Beer at a Superbowl Party?

I'm starting to plan a superbowl party and I'm a little embarrassed my husband likes cheap American beer. Should I at least try to convince him to upgrade to a good local microbrew? :)

who cares go with what beer you like. nothing wrong with bud light. if your hubby wants cheap beer whats wrong with that?? most ppl i know drink plain old american beer miller light or bud light seem to be the most popular these days.

actually the last superbowlparty i was at we had a keg and it was probably bud light. and we paid 10 a person and had beer and food. or something like that. also ppl could byob and that way they could have whatever they want.

To me, the super bowl is a part of Americana. So, I'd go with a domestic beer. It's actually one of the few times I'll drink a Budweiser. But, that's just my personal preference. I'm not going to give someone crap if they drink an import.

hey everyone know Anheuser-Busch is a Belgian company now.so uhm they are all import.i say we start demanding commercials from AMERICAN companies and brew houses. i am tired of everything going overseas.bring back jobs to America!

Absolutely...I'd take a Warsteiner from Warstein, Germany or a Beer Lao from Vientiane, Laos PDR - ANYTIME over an American beer. Sorry!

I would pass on all the wines but fill me up with Bombay Sapphire Gin, a splash of vermouth, and two olives, I would even root for Cleveland, Baltimore, or Cincy...although only Baltimore has a shot now.

Yes, only serve something brewed locally. If you can't find a local brew choose Yuengling. Yuengling is America's oldest brewery still owned by Americans and brewed in America.

Bud, Miller and Coors are all foreign owned.

i dont think people would be touchy about you serving at least some imported beer, but it's likely to be expensive, and personally I'm a moderate when it comes to spending money. Most of the people I know would be perfectly satisfied with Budweiser or Michelob.

The point is to enjoy it - maybe get some stuff he likes and get something you like as well. It's not about impressing anyone though - and if he's happy with something cheaper - why spend extra you don't need to?

I used to love drinking dark beer and eating Pizza at a place in Palm Springs called Shakeys. I think pizza and beer go together great for a superbowl party. I think it was German beer they had on tap, whatever it was... oh yum!

I don't know.. I loved Shakeys Pizza tho, and the beer went so well with the pizza. I'd love to find one and see if they still have the viewing window so everyone can see how the pizza dough is made.
