Would you rather live life as a happy and fulfilled Atheist or as a happy Christian with no arms who paints beautiful watercolors with their feet and inspires others to become Christians ?

I am already living life as a happy fulfilled Atheists and have absolutely no desire to be a christian under any circumstances.

I believe in science, knowledge and information and would never submit to a life of superstition and magic and fear.

Atheists are not sad at all, But we usually think it is rather pathetic to have to worship and be in fear all your life of a god who is so unstable that he will slaughter thousand on a whim. You cannot never know for sure where you stand with gods like that.

What kind of sad life must you be living, if your greatest hope, comes after death?

I actually have a great life, but it's nothing compared to heaven. I can say the same for those who believe that the pathetic disease infested life we live is as good as it gets.

Christians don't get diseases? I have a rather large and full family plot at a cemitary in Indiana, which begs to differ.
I also know a lot of Christians who are the text-book definition of pathetic. They aren't pathetic by virtue of BEING Christians, but BEING Christian, has not made them more respectable either.
Anyway, I wasn't talking about ALL Christians. I was talking about YOU. The way you said "At least I have hope after death", sounds like you have NO hope, prior to. A well-lived life doesn't need an encore. And if there is one, let it be a bonus.

According to the bible, the very best we can do here in this life is like dirty rags in the eyes of God. In regard to diseases, there will be no sickness or etc in heaven. Being a Christian doesn't make you infaliable, perfect, or more holy than an unsaved person, it just means that you'll go to heaven when you die and the other guy won't. That said, when a person truely repents of their sins, they should change and gradually become more successful at resisting sin, though you never really get very good at it. Not perfect, just saved. The only people who will have an afterlife are those who accept Jesus Christ as their savior, so yes, heaven is a bonus because we did nothing to deserve it, but not a bonus that just happens.

If your god would allow a person who lives a useless life, to be saved; while a person who lives a life that truly makes the world a better place, to be damned; your god is anything but just. If your god wants us to believe in him, he could surely prove his existence. If he wants us to put our faith in his son, he could certainly prove that too. Otherwise, it's just a crap-shoot. Every religion thinks theirs is the only way to be saved, and none of them offer any evidence to support this assumption. The only reasonable way to go, is to live the best life we can, and hope that if there is another life beyond this one; that the gatekeeper to that life, will take into account at least our intent, if not our works. To ignore them, in favor of a guessing game, is idiotic. I assume that if there is a God, he is not an idiot.

God gave us His word and if studied, He will reveil Himself to us. You also have to be open to God, not closed minded. You refer to a useless life, define a useless life. You also refer to someone who makes the world a better place. Are they making the world a better place by bringing peoples attention to their eternal soul or just the here and now? When you're a Christian, you began to realize that what happens to us in this life is inconsequencial. We'll only be here 70 or 80 years, maybe a few more, but in regard to eternity in either heaven or hell, our little lives here on earth doesn't matter. You can live 80 years standing on your head when looking at eternity. Don't get me wrong, everyone gets caught up in the here and now, even the best of Christians. Like I've said, being a Christian doesn't make you perfect or even better than the unsaved, just one less debt to pay, though the biggest. If I'm understanding you correctly, the bible does state that there are different degrees of paradise, depending on your works here on earth. Don't get me wrong, the lowest level of paradise will be great, but those with more good works will be given an even larger reward. These good works consist of leading others to salvation. Now you see why so many Christians evangelize. If you're given eternal life and you had no doubt about it, wouldn't you want to tell someone else about it? Though, some people go about it the wrong way.

    So much here to cover
    1. "God gave us His word and if studied, He will reveil Himself to us. You also have to be open to God, not closed minded."
    >I can tell you first-hand that this is untrue. I studied. I begged your god to come into my heart. I begged him to reveal himself to me. Over the course of 8 years, I searched. The last two of which, I studied so intently, that some around me thought I was preparing to go to seminary. But nothing was revealed. In the end, I realized that he either wasn't there, or didn't care.

    2. A useless life is one which in no way improves the world around him/her. Some criminals or violent dictators. People who if you add up all the good they've done, and all the bad, they find themselves having done more harm than good.

Maybe there is more, maybe not. But we KNOW that we have today. We KNOW that we have this life. And to call that inconsequential, is idiotic. The two most precious things that any of us has, is our life and our dignity.

    4. " If you're given eternal life and you had no doubt about it, wouldn't you want to tell someone else about it?"
    >How can you possibly have no doubt about it? Have you seen it? Do you know anyone who has? You're basing an incredibly large gamble, on a 2000 year old book, which has been re-translated over and over again, and which has been proven faulty in the past. It's one thing to believe, but to have "no doubt"? How?

You're saying that every human being that has ever lived and believed in a god of some kind is a fool? You know, crazy people think that everyone is crazy but them. just saying.

Sorry, I have been told by numerous christians that my father is satan, that I am the child of the devil, that all atheists have absolutely no morals, that only atheists are in prisons, that no 'true' would ever do or say anything like *.....*

And a host of other disgusting name that I care not to even repeat. So do not lecture me on what you think is mean. I have heard it all spewed forth from every imaginable 'true' christian here on SH.

Put aside for a moment, whether or not Christianity is actually right, whether or not there is actually a god a heaven or a hell. You're saying that you would rather believe, than have arms? Even if it turns out that you were wrong, and there is no god, no heaven or hell; you would rather have the beliefs, than have arms?

My answer has nothing to do with that. I said that I want to be inspiring to others, Christian or not. Heaven or hell doesn't matter. Believing or not doesn't matter. It's the inspiration part that mattered.

What? Did I ever say anything about their beliefs or differences vein wrong or right? I'm a Christian, and, yeah I may not agree/like them, but I'm not going to tell you our wrong? It's not my decision to rule your life. This isn't Sims, and I'm not God.

Also, I'm tired of everyone assuming that because I'm Christian, that I'm like those psyco extremists, or that I don't understand. I get it, Athiests don't believe in God. So? I'll get over it.
