You might want to ditch the sleeping bag the next time you go camping, because there's a more accommodating offer on the market these days, straight from the U.K.
Glamping.
The term, a neologism for "glamorous camping," refers to a relatively new trend allowing wealthy campers to rent out five-star tents, complete with electricity, full beds, and if you're lucky, air conditioning.
Admittedly, it's not really what we've grown to call "camping," which is usually synonymous with getting coated in dirt and not taking showers. Glamping is more like renting an unconventional hotel, and it's only available where hosts decide to make it available.
In England, glamping sites are set up in various locations, from genuine natural habitats, to gentle open communes, to secluded orchards; and shelter can take many forms, from tipi to RV.
However, American glampers are starting out easy. Fred Fellowes, a British music festival promoter, brought glamping to the Shinnecock Indian Reservation in Southampton, N.Y., last week, where a handful of glamorous campers scoped Edward Sharpe and Patti Smith from the comfort of their beds.
The catch? It's on the pricey side. The really pricey side.
Prospective glampers can expect to shell out from $1,000 to $3,500 a night for a proper glamping spot. Although, it's worth it if you consider your fellow glampers. You're a lot less likely to run into a Spanish supermodel in the Adirondacks.

I admit glamping sounds like all fun and no work , but why not just take an RV.
