I'd rather not have children at all, to be perfectly honest.

But if some how my mind changes in the future, I think adoption would be better. Not even from a foreign country, but adoption in general. There are already too many "unwanted" children out there, parents who never wanted to be parents, so instead of leaving those children in the care of various government systems, it makes far more sense to adopt one into a loving family.

I don't think that it's even right for people to have children anymore, adoption centers are so over filled with unwanted children that aren't ever adopted. It's not fair to bring more people into this world while others don't even have a home.

Well think of this way. You dont have to wait for Mr or Ms Perfect/right to have children. If you are financially well off and have lots of love to give adopt. You dont need to have a wife or husband.

Also if you adopt and then get married. Then lets say the marriage does not last. AS long you dont put the other person on the adoption the other spouse can't claim child support. Only alimonoy depending on how long you married. So its less paycheck for the divorced spouse. Since many wives typically want children and her monthly payment. If you adopt and buy a home before marriage you will walk away with both.

I honestly would like to try to have my own children first. Then, i'd adopt from a foreign country after if I cannot have children. I know that i'd love the child as my own, but I would like to try to have my own children first - to know that I made a baby with the one I love, that the child is a product of our love - I want to experience that.

This is a tough one. I think everyone wants to have their own children, it's just one of those things. The feeling that you brought life into this world must be amazing. But I think it'd be great to adopt from a foreign country, adopting in general would be great, really. It'd be for a different reason though, I think, you're giving a child a second chance. If I found that I couldn't have kids, I would definitely adopt, as opposed to all those new scientific ways of conceiving.

my girl friend and i decided to have our own but with her epilepsy pills it might be difficult to have our own... we have decided to when the time comes and biologically isnt going to happen then we will adopt locally...

Why not both? I have two of my own, and would love to adopt one from a foreign country, particularly since I wouldn't be "allowed" to adopt one in the U.S..

Kind of a hard choice, might in suggest in the future you adding a both and or an undecided choice? I would like to have my own child sure to have the experience but then I sort of feel selfish in the sense that there are so many children out there who need homes and I'm bringing ANOTHER child into the world. I personally would like to have a child and adopt.

I'd adopt a starving child from another country if I decide I want kids. I'd never want to go through 9 months of random hormones and the horror of childbirth to have another one of me running about the house... Leperchuans, that'd be a nightmare... gods know how much trouble I was for my parents... They tell me they love me but I know that they hate me too... So... I spose that a child from another country could have a lot of problems, but I'm sure that they could get over their problems in a loving and caring home. If I decide to get a child I'll look for one until I get the Right feeling, Til my intuition tells me that this one belongs with my family.

However, if I had to adopt in order to have children is would be a baby form the States. Nothing against the foreign children, but until our own house in order I just can't justify it.

i have a child of my own! And theres nothing like the experience of pregnancy, childbirth, and raising a child of your own. Watching your and your partners personality coming through someone else! But, why go to another country to adopt when there are kids here that need homes? Approximately 1.5 million kids are homeless in our OWN COUNTRY! Leave it to Angelina or Madonna to adopt kids from overseas....lets worry about our kids here first!

Foreign standards are more lenient than they are here. For example, I, as an unmarried woman with some medical history, could adopt from some foreign countries, but a large majority of American adoption agencies, and the states themselves, would not accept it for both of those reasons.

Of course I would rather have my own children but if I couldn't then I would prefer to adopt within the USA. After all, we have plenty of needy kids right here. I believe in takingxcare of our own first.

I have 3 of my own but if I could I would love to adopt an Israeli little girl. I had endometriosis and was told I couldnt have kids so I was quite suprised when I first conceived and even more with my 2 that followed. I planned on adopting Israeli children. That is where my heart is as it is with America. My bloodline comes from my dads side that bonds me with Israel.

I would love to have my own children when I get older. Unfortunately, I have a next to impossible chance of getting pregnant because of trauma I went through as a child. Most likely I will adopt or get a surrogate, but I would want to do so from America.
