I just had a conversation with someone and they said if I ever get into a car wreck and it's the other persons fault, I should pee my pants and it's a guarantee to get $5,000 - $10,000 more...

I don't see the logic in that statement. *NOTE* I'm not directing any of this at you specifically Keith Kakugawa, this is a blanket statement, directed at anyone who drives a car.

Newsflash people: money from car accidents don't come from the sugar plum fairy. Auto insurance companies do NOT like to pay out, it makes their greedy ass idiots at the top very annoyed. So, when people screw the auto insurance out of money, WE PAY FOR IT!! I am sick of paying out the ass for auto insurance because people think it's easy money, or that they can get away with cheating the system. You don't, you cheat others out of their hard earned money in the form of raised premiums.

Sounds like Insurance Fraud to me. Pee by the way isn't harming so if I was an Insurance agent I sure wouldn't pay out more.

I wouldn't do it. I would make sure to nail the other person because it's probably going to be their fault because I'm a perfect driver.

I came up on a scene of an accident in Alabama at an intersection where a car had gotton t-boned there was a lady in the passengers side of the car where it had been hit. It had just occurred, I was at a gas station at the intersection so I was kinda a first responder you could call it, I walked to cars and checked all occupants in both cars to make sure that there were not in immediate life threatening risks and called 911, the lady was scared to death and peed all over herself, I personally can say, Id probably peed all over myself and rolled out a few milk duds also if that was me right there where the car had gotten hit. I offered her a towel to cover herself but she declined.

I've had a couple of major accidents. I don't remember but I probably peed my pants when it happened. Don't think that had a damn thing to do with what the insurance company paid. My injuries and the fact it was the other person's stupidity did that.

I wouldn't because of a car accident. There are so many frivolous lawsuits that people win it makes me sick. Like the idiot lady and the McD's coffee. But if someone came up to me and said I'll give you 50 dollars to pee your pants, I would do it.

I know how misinformed you are but the facts are substantiated. Many of those same car insurance companies take the risk of you getting into an accident and when you do your pay out normally is more than what you pay into insurance premiums in a large accident. Many of those same car insurance companies are also insure homes. When my home was burned by an arsonist it was close to 1/2 million in damages and I surely didn't pay or ever will pay a 1/2 mil in premiums. My insurance never went up as it came from the pot not more from others. It's a fact that compared to many companies an insurance company's earnings are very small.

Go after G.E. Or Microsoft or some real companies that make big profits and that's not insurance companies.

i think you completely misread what I was saying hula. while I feel auto insurance, actually ALL insurance companies are greedy and vile, in this specific topic (the driver getting more money for being dishonest) I was saying that by cheating the insurance, it only cheats the others who pay premiums.
Where do you think that 'pot of funds' gets funded from? Our premiums. I live in Florida, majority of the homeowners companies have refused to write policies for people here because they don't make enough profit for it to be worth their time/effort. the companies that do, get approved for 20-30% insurance rate hikes every year, even though no hurricane has hit in several years. They don't even have to cover sink hole damage any more. all that money they charge is based on statistics and risk/benefit figures. Also, having a home burn because of an arsonist is a lot different then peeing in one's pants to get 10,000.

so, based on the topic at hand, cheating the system cheats others in the form of raised premiums. I feel that is a very accurate statement, not misinformed at all.

They have to make a profit. It's not about greed it's about running a business. It's not them that's being the cheaters all the time it's those that defraud the insurance companies. Insurance premiums don't come even close to the pay out they hand out in a disaster. They have to make a profit to run a business and keep going.

i disagree. I feel their profits are extremely high, although I haven't been able to find a creditable article that gives the profits reported. probably just not putting in the correct search term.

Their profits are low and that's been all over the place and is scrap compared to most companies. Who do you think pays out after a hurricane, floods in many States and it all happens at the same time? Who do you think pays out year after year for all those expensive car accidents after a snowy city year after year? Who takes the risks...the insurance companies do. It's a gamble. In most families someone has had a car accident through their life time and those accidents pay out a lot of money more than just what your premiums were.

Heath insurance are about 3-5% and other companies don't do much more than that.

Everyone wants their insurance but doesn't want to pay for it. It's called gambling and they take all the risks.
