After complaints about drug use and noise, a Los Angeles-based rave company is moving one of its annual concerts from its longtime home in San Bernardino to Devore, but some neighbors of the new venue are angry about the change.
Insomniac Inc. decided to shift the Beyond Wonderland rave from the National Orange Show Events Center near downtown San Bernardino to the San Bernardino County-owned San Manuel Amphitheater after tensions with Police Chief Robert Handy and residents. It stages at least two other raves a year at the events center.

- Fuzzymachineguns 2013/02/07 16:32:41 (edited)YesYes i would oppose it. I live in a town notorious for its underaged drinking, and around halloween there was a big party/rave. I know that when events like this happen, self-entitled teenagers crash it, get drunk, get high, and get sent to the hospital. it's a burden on almost everybody.reply
- lm1b2 2013/02/07 16:08:04Yes+2It should be called a Drug Fest!reply

+1So dont go to the event. I dont want a lot of things around me but I dont try to ban other people from enjoying it. I would prefer that pop stars dont have concerts in my city, but I dont try to stop them.reply - ssmithix FatherL... 2013/02/08 03:35:48
I meant not in my neighborhood or within ear shot.reply - FatherL... ssmithix 2013/02/08 16:22:27
Well if you are concerned with it you shouldnt live next to an event center. Raves are not held public parks or in the streets of neighborhoods. They are at event centers that hold concerts and other events, or industrial complexes.reply - ssmithix FatherL... 2013/02/09 02:20:11
The question posed was if I wanted raves in my neighborhood. I don't live by those things you mentioned. Let's not make a mountain out of a molehill.reply - mark.ma... FatherL... 2013/03/16 04:23:48
+2I support it, but the event center wasn't here when I moved in and we had no say in it. It's not like we can just pack up and move.reply - ..::localeye::.. 2013/02/07 14:42:01No+1I've been to raves...they are not any different then any other mass gathering around music.reply

- Estick 2013/02/07 04:49:11No+3Not all raves are massives where 30,000+ people are in attendance, like the one described in this article. Most are smaller. Used to go to raves all the time. Personally I always thought the smaller parties were better. Been to many many raves in San Bernindido, and a few massives at the Orange Show too (around 99' - 01'). Even though It's been a while since I've been to a party, it's who I am, I love the music. I would love for a party to be held near where I live...reply
- joey.b503 2013/02/07 04:37:39No+4Hell no. Bring the party!reply
- Miss Fiona 2013/02/07 04:25:00Yes+3My community isn't large enough for a rave anyway. No one would enjoy the party, so dealers would market methamphetamine and ecstasy to enhance the atmosphere, thus leading to immense problems.reply
- FatherL... Miss Fiona 2013/02/07 17:59:34
+1It doesnt matter how large the community is, there will always be ecstacy and other drugs being sold. I dont know why that concerns you. It is the individuals personal choice. Do we not have the freedom to consume what we choose? I know freedom is not the law, but isnt it supposed to be? I have been to raves and really have never seen any serious problem take place... nothing more than any other concert or event.reply - wes FatherL... 2013/02/07 21:02:34
+1All the raves I've been to have either been broken up by the police or ended with people getting shot or raped..and never even really had any good music to speak of....horrible waste of time. I'd rather be home doing my homework and planning my future as a productive citizen in society, using my spare time towards helping others....just sayin'....reply - mark.ma... wes 2013/03/16 04:27:51
+1maybe you can come to Devore and help some of these poor concert goers that will be stoned out of their mind and wondering around like zombies on our streets at 4 am in the morning. Let me know!reply - wes mark.ma... 2013/03/17 01:30:55
I'm afraid you're on your own on that one, sorry.....reply - Miss Fiona FatherL... 2013/02/20 01:27:07
I'm not stopping anyone from consuming ecstasy in my town limits. I simply wouldn't condone the activity or encourage it through accepting a venue in the neighborhood which would inevitably lead to drug use.reply - juicebox07 2013/02/07 04:11:37No+3I love raves. I go to them quite a bit, but I have to travel an hour and a half to Baltimore or DC.reply
- Johann juicebox07 2013/02/07 10:46:23
I thought that was never heard of back there? Growing up there wish I knew, could have escaped the small town.reply - mark.ma... juicebox07 2013/03/16 04:30:02
+1plan a vacation and spend it here in our little community with us, we're having 4 a year and it's only a mile from my house, we can get stoned, play a little ukulele and sing some fun songs after the concert while sipping a little wine.reply - ServantOfAllah 2013/02/07 04:04:47NoDidn't the intro to this question ask the opposite question, like "Do you want a rave in your community?" Stop messing with us sodahead.reply
