Would you like to take a couple months off work and drive across the US on a "road trip" with or without friends?

Oh yes, and have discussed that plan with two friends, one when we were still teenagers. It hasn't happened yet, sadly. I have only been on shorter road trips so far; some fun, some not so much.

Wow this would be great, but I'd love a traveling companion. Road trips are wonderful with someone to both talk to on the trip and share the fun and beautiful places.

by myself....for a number of reasons...my interests are varied, I don't like sharing an experience with someone who isn't interested or harping on the next bathroom break, or the next meal.....If I travel I enjoy my own company....

LOL! Hey, I love traveling with someone who is either showing me places the he loves or traveling to new adventures. I love road trips, but I'm not so fond of doing it on my own. Besides, when you see something really great, it's so good to have someone there with whom you can say, "Wow! Did you see that?"

Two girls the age yours were when you started the cross country are, well, challenging to say the least. And, of course, it never occurs to one that if you stop, you go. It's, "I don't have to go now..."

However, I particularly enjoyed a tour of North Dakota, Wish I hadn't brought rain with me, though.

Yes.......I've done so four times and will probably do it again soon. I have no itinerary.........just a map. If I like what I see, I stop. If not, I keep going. I love being on the road and wandering around in strange places.

It's always been a dream to take a summer and travel around the continental US in my motorhome. I travel to dog shows alone alot but some adult company would be nice too.

We just put over seven thousand miles on our vehicle. Had a wonderful time with no schedule. Ended up back home on the 50th day.

Indeed yes, back in May 1974 my new wife at the time decided to drive from St. Louis to Santa Monica, CA. via` Route 66: in my Dad's 66-`Mustang F/B, we had 12-days one way to the West Coast: taking our time and enjoying the ride.. coming back took us 22-days as we drove north thru California to Lake Tahoe, Big Sur, etc. then east bound through Reno, and Sheridan, WY. and I'd love to do it again, and just may do so this spring. 1966 Mustang
Dad's actual Car we put 4825-miles on it

Road trips are one of my favorite things to do with my husband. We've done sections of the Old Route 66 in several states.

Kids have to be cheap! My very first car was a 1968 Olds 98 Regency, $600. from my uncle who had kept it immaculate. I didn't understand the treasure I had and I ran the heck out of it and ultimately let someone drive and she totalled it :-(

Just got done doing that... We took off for a year in an old RV and traveled extensively before settling where we are now. It was so awesome, we stayed in campgrounds, around lakes, in the middle of the desert, in the mountains, the oceans and did it on less than $10,000. Highly recommended!
