I'm straight, so there is nothing controversial about my sexual orientation. Although where I work, people are not made to feel shame in being openly gay, at least not by other employees. Customers is a different story.

im a straight guy, its nothing to be embarassed over, just like people who are something else dont seem to be embarassed. My last job i worked in the same building as my wife anyway.

People at work know I am straight. A few of them are my friends and they've met my boyfriend :) Also there have been a few gay boys at my work and they were all open about it.

Just because it is legal doesn't mean it's mandatory. I realize the job market is tough, but do you really want to work someone who would fire you JUST because you are gay.

Now if you are discussing it at work and someone files a sexual harassment complaint against you, that's a little different. You don't want to hear about my love life either.
