Would you let a a 14 year old have a 35 year old boyfriend?

☥☽✪☾DAW ☽✪☾ 2011/04/10 19:28:39

14-Year-Old Has Been Pregnant 3 Times Already
and her 35-year-old boyfriend is finally headed to jail.
Just when you thought it couldn't get more disgusting this story is just as chilling -- perhaps more so.
According to the Vancouver Sun, restaurant manager Mark Tyndale (not to be confused with the basketball player of the same name) struck up a relationship with the child in January 2007.
By April, it was sexual.
She went through not one, not two, but three pregnancies in a year and a half. The first she aborted, sparking a suicide attempt. No cops were called in to stop it.
The second she miscarried. Again, no cops.
Somehow the cops finally got wind of this some time before the third pregnancy -- although she still managed to BECOME pregnant (and give birth) before Tyndale was ordered away from her.
The court has acknowledged the girl claims to have been a willing participant in all of this, but sexual abuse charges stand against Tyndale because, ahem, she was under the age of consent in Canada.
The fact that he's plead guilty removes all hemming and hawing on this. Someone -- her parents? -- allowed a 14-year-old to spend an inordinate amount of time with a man two and a half times her age.
And then no one threw up a red flag before pregnancy number three?
In the West Virginia case, as creepy as it was, at least things were addressed immediately -- they didn't wait for the girl to be impregnated three times over.
In this case, Mark Tyndale may be the main transgressor. But it looks like someone else should be slapped with some child endangerment charges of their own.

should the 14 year old girls parents be charged as well for allowing her to date a 35 year old man

Huh. Canada. And here I was debating Alabama, Arkansas. Alabama, Arkansas. Alabama, Arkan--CANADA? Wait, she had the third one? And her parents didn't say anything?

My parents were TWENTY years apart and they had a loving, happy home. They're both deceased now, I was the result of their union, and I'm a happy, very successful (financially) adult in my early 50s. There's no age limits to love in either direction, men with men, women with women, men and women... no limits. If you think there are, then you're simply narrow minded. I feel sorry for YOU.

Ok .. I could see MAYBE the parents weren't aware of the pregnancy ( depending on when she aborted and when she miscarried .. and the openness of their relationship with their daughter if she would have told them)
however to raise a child so confused that by the age of 14 she is sleeping around with a man that is just about old enough to be her father .. I think the parents need to be slapped and shamed ..

no, but I do have a 16-year-old friend who also hangs out(drinks) with guys who are in their late 30s- early 40s. I find it gross but she likes em and even her parents know it, but yet they do nothing

The girl already had a baby, and even though many don't agree with this; sending him to jail would make raising a baby with out him difficult for her. To little to late, and what's done is done. Charging the parents and possibly sending them to jail too...would make her life really hard with a baby.

The parents knew about this sh!t? SHAME ON THEM! What kind of parent lets their 14 year old daughter run around with someone old enough to be her father?
I may be lenient towards this since the girl claims to have been a willing participant, but come on! 14? 14!
And before anyone says I'm sick or whatever, think about the reality of kids between 14 and 17 (or was it 18?) are SEXUALLY ACTIVE; those ages are the highest numbers where they lose their virginities. If it was not with him, then it could've happened with someone else, BUT he was in the wrong too. He should've been a responcible adult and backed off.

Me personally, if I knew, I'd forbid her to be around him. I simply don't trust someone that old with someone that young- unless they're family. And I'd warn him to stay the hell away from my kid and if he didn't, I'd probably be in prison for assult.

No. Why a 35 year old man would want to have any sort of romantic/sexual relations with a girl closer to 10 than 20 is beyond me.
