None of us would smile about it, and you are right about their parent being gone, we just hope it never ever comes down to this. But the love for our children is greater than the love for our own life when it comes down to it. They depend on us for living.
not me. I would gladly sacrifice my life for my child. they will continue to live and prosper without me. knowing THAT I will die with a smile on my face
So would I...maybe. :-) Something strange happens to children when they become teenagers. All those hormones start kicking in, and before you know it you've got...an adult!...(or at least they like they are at age 15).
Your post is so TRUE!! I remember reading in the news paper back in the 1970's (when my first born was just 6 mos. old and in the paper it said they asked people who had teenage childern if they were glad they had kids well 56 % of them said NO they wish they did not have kids. Well i was just so SHOCKED at the time and thought how bad of those parents were to say such a thing ......well when my kids were teenagers I KNEW what those parents met lol lol But when the teen yrs were gone oh how happy i was to have my kids then lol lol
My son is just 10; so I figure I have three years left of love before he disowns me. God, when I remember when I was a teenager it was miracle my parents didn't shoot me! 56%, huh? I bet if you surveyed now that number would jump up to 96%. lol
Yes you do have that time left lol lol and i bet you are right it would be 96% NOW!!! lol lol Yeah me too when i was a teenager my parents were pulling their hair out lol lol But the one thing is i was the oldest and all my younger brothers and sister were a LOT more WORSE as teenagers then i was lol lol They had no hair left!! lol lol ...by the way i did my JOKE for the day ck. it out if you want to!! http://www.sodahead.com/fun/j...
It is easy to say what you would want to do in that situation, imagining acting upon your ideals, but the fact is that until such a moment arises, you have no idea how you will in act in reality.
I have no doubt. I risked my life to save a total stranger; would I do less for one of my children? I'll grant that the proof would be in the action, but consider that I've lived most of my life and theirs are yet to live. I've overcome my fear of death, so, again, I have no doubt.
