    I think it would depend on how bad the person's condition was. Some people with this condition are a danger to themselves or to others sometimes. I would not want myself or my family to be in a situation where they would be in danger.

    I do not fear living with someone - - because I wouldn't!

    I prefer not to live with anyone.

    I live alone... and intend to keep living alone until I am put in a nursing home.. and even then I hope they put me in a private room - alone!

    it would be an emotional roller coaster in the best of times, and dangerous if they self-medicate using drugs or alcohol

    People suffering from PTSD are not the same as psychotic persons. There's a big difference between the two but it would take a lot of space to explain. Suffice it to say that I would not fear living with someone who is suffering from PTSD.

    My son is suffering from PTSD. He has suffered a TBI which causes him to have daily migraines. He was blown up several times, shot several times, saw close friends die and saw the most horrible things imaginable. I do not fear living with him at all. Through treatment (medication and counseling) and prayer he is getting better.

    I dealt with it with my ex-husband. He served a couple of tours in Iraq. It was very hard, but ultimately, that wasn't what tore our marriage apart...it was the women he couldn't stop sleeping with.

    Just be careful to stand well away from them if you have to wake them up. I learned that when my brother came home from Nam.

    It actually depends on the severity of it. In extreme cases, people suffering from PTSD can become really dangerous to themselves and others.
