HERE IN BALTIMORE CITY MD.....WE A RULE THAT THE CITY POLICE ARE "NOT ALLOWED" TO CHASE ILLEGAL" DIRT BIKE RIDERS" ON THE CITY STREETS!!!!!!! THE DIRT BIKE RIDERS ARE WHAT I HAVE SEEN FOR MYSELF ARE "MIDDLE AGED MEN".....35 TO 50 YRS OF AGE???? YOU FIGURE??? THEY HIT PEOPLE IN CROSS WALKS, GO THROUGH RED LIGHTS ETC.......POLICE NOT ALLOWED TO "GIVE PURSUIT"........CRAZY........I WOULD LOVE TO BE COP ONE DAY TO RUN THEM OFF THE STREETS?????? FORGOT TO MENTIONS WHEELIES ETC.....HAVOC!!! SOME ARE YOUNG PEOPLE TOO!!!!!!!

It's a very dangerous job and you become a target the minute you put on the uniform. My brother-in-law and nephew are police officers and every time they leave the house my sister worries about them.

I'm a retired policeofficer. Would I go thru it again probably not. Its now CYA and PC that rules not law and order.

In the first week of the Academy, one of our Instructors told us that when we pined the Badge on, it was like pinning on a target. We all thought that he meant a physical target for the criminals, but we found out in short order that he meant a target of the media and public perception.

Hell NO. I personally DO NOT like cops much. I don't really do anything illegal other then my history of breaking curfew, but the cops around here suck. And don't seem to kno what they're doing, other then being pricks. I'm sure not all cops are like this, but the ones around where I live, and my fiance` live are.

Yes, but I don't feel they get enough pay for what they do and what they have to put up with. Just like our Firefighters, EMT's, etc. We have athletes who make more per year then any of those who risk their lives to save another. Just my opinion!!!

No, I did this job for about 4-years total, the main reason I don't want any part of it, is because of a thing called Fellowship of Police, and I want No part of it.. in summation that fellowship is where one cop lies, and another swears to it in 95% of the time. the Key word is "LIE"

Absolutely it does.
Honest... and fair... and most importantly, people with their priorities straight.
But in my area, those qualities would not be viewed favorably by those in charge.
They would make the rest of the force look bad, and we couldn't have that.
