It’s the stuff of the Debra Messing movie “The Wedding Date.” An attractive, but unlucky-in-love single woman doesn’t want to go stag to her half-sister’s wedding in which her ex-fiancé is best man. So she does what any logical girl would do, she hires a male escort (played by the dashingly handsome Dermot Mulroney) to pretend to be her boyfriend for the big event. Of course, wackiness ensues.
The price tag for a full day on the town is $128. But more frugal females can opt for the $6.42 an hour rate. There are even special price tags for certain events. A regular movie will run a temporary suitor $8 and a horror movie boosts the cost to $16.
Now it seems that the concept of renting a boyfriend is taking off around the globe. A recent ABC News report found that “searches for ‘rent-a-boyfriend’ have gone up 884 percent this year, presumably due to the unusual proximity of the Chinese Lunar New Year and Valentine's Day.”

go with call girls, then you can skip the date part.
besides isn't this whole rent-a-date bit just another form of hooking anyway?
I would be willing to pay them to go away afterwards, and never call me.
with first dates, since men are traditionally required to bankroll every solitary
dime for a first date as is. For a man to have to pay rental for a sutible female
companion for a date on top of all of that is totally ludicrous. That's straying
awfully close to prostitution and pandering, if it ain't already there.
That said I do understand why some women do it in China and certain other cultures. Their under a hell of a lot of pressure from their parents to get married. By going the rent a date routine they can get the parents off their backs.
I mean, isn't that the most awkward thing as it is? Renting someone to date, and if it's a proper date, you're going to probably hold hands with them and even get a peck on the cheek or full on smooch... then say "bye" at the end of it all.
I can't believe someone would actually think of this. I'm starting to think sense of moral and integrity is diminishing in people these recent years.
People are not objects.
