Chris - The Rowdy One! #187 2012/08/23 14:14:45No+7I have seen way too many movies and I do not trust people. Maybe in old time America, before multi-culturalism, I would have considered it.

Example: I lived in Northern California for a while, and it was pretty common for people to hitchhike up the road for a couple of miles or so. It was safe and part of community behavior.
1. the person seems in distress, injured
2. appears stranded, car trouble, sick
3. bad weather, more so if miles from nowhere
The last stranger(s) I gave a ride to were a young married couple with a baby in a front-carrier on a sub-zero Xmas morning in the mid-70's. They were visiting relatives and didn't realize the train schedule wasn't the same on a holiday so were walking about 5 miles. I decided they didn't look like closet ax-murderers.
