Would you ever eat at the Heart Attack Grill?

Irony is the main entrée in the news this week: An unofficial spokesman for the Heart Attack Grill in Las Vegas died of a heart attack Monday. John Alleman, 52, who scoffed at healthy heart warnings by waving in customers outside the downtown eatery while dressed as a hospital patient, is the second unpaid mascot to die in two years.

Alleman was taken off life support after suffering an attack last week while waiting at a bus stop in front of the diner. Though never on the payroll, Alleman came to the restaurant daily and encouraged passing tourists to try calorie-heavy offerings such as extra-fat milkshakes, Flatliner Fries cooked in lard and a Quadruple Bypass Burger that contains 9,982 calories.

Yes, but I live too far away to eat there. I wish they would open one in this area!

I also miss the Jack In The Box places that were closed in this area so I can't get the greasiest taco in the world that they used to sell. I was able to satisfy that craving when I visited my daughter in San Francisco and went to the Jack In The Box out there.

He died of a "Heart Attack" in front of the "Heart Attack Cafe" while waiting at a bus stop!!! Talk about poetic irony.

Yeah, the article said he would wave customers inside to eat while dressed in a hospital gown. Sad thing is, he wasn't even paid by them.

He obviously ate there quite often. As you said, he ate himself to the point of a heart attack!

Anything in excess will kill you. A good burger every once-in-a-while isn't going to kill you.

I'd rather die overloading on Hawaiian food and having a poké induced heart attack. :)

Anything is fine in moderation. There is no harm in stopping in there and trying some of their food if you happen to be in town. On the other hand, if you are stupid enough to eat that kind of food on a regular basis, you suffer the consequences.

And I feel like I will die if I do now. America should stop complaining about it's weight. "Mehh, we can't control it. I hate being the overweight country." Really, lol? extra fat milkshake

I don't care for fast food myself, but this is America, and people should be free to choose for themselves what they want to eat. I would hate to live in your version of America.

Didn't the Texas spokesman die a couple years ago? Although, he was only in his late twenties or early thirties I think.

No one forces these people to eat at this place. I feel sorry for them because they have no self control.

How on earth has this restaurant stayed opened with that kind of name? The fact that there are some who would want to go there baffles me.

Only if they came to Vallejo, Ca. We can replace all the gun violence with heart attacks. Then Vallejo would be known as a safe city.

too much food! too poisonous of foods... come on! that so called beef is "manufactured" from feed (high fructose corn syrup and chemical blasted fake corn). It's a sorry joke, the crap "they" the big shots running Washington, the heads of these corporations' call "food". It's a joke. Natural grass fed beef (or any meat) without hormones, and chemicals to kill weeds and insects (actually just to sell oil based chemicals, so oil and big shot chemicals companies heads can swipe off the top billions in wages, bonuses, self profits)... they don't care if we get sick, they think there are too many people here anyway.. and so what.. then the drug companies that advertise and brain wash via commercials can make the big fake bucks.... and big shots, a hand full of them, run the "Federal Reserve" (which is owned by privates bankers - not the federal government like you may think.. the FR decides when and how much money they will print to "loan" with interest to the government.. and to loan with interest to banking big shots names they have been around for hundred years... .Prescott Bush ran Union Bank that money laundered Nazi money... oh come on.. who do you think funded Hitler... big money.. read.. read "American Axis" by Max Wallace ..
