Would You Date Outside Your Race?

I get your point, it would be easier I guess to marry within the same culture and race since you more than likely will have the same views and similarities. Not to mention it would solve identity issue with their kids if they have them. But in the end we are humans so it would be up to the individuals to decide if they can deal with the "issues" that interracial relationships may bring.

Well, obviously it would be up to the individual, but people tend not to "think" when selecting a mate . . . they emote. Emotions cannot think & are not tied up with reasoning, & therein lies a basic reason why the divorce rate is so high, no matter whether it's interracial or same race. It doesn't bother me that people marry someone from a different race, but it does bother me that people today don't seem to like commitment or keeping promises.

Same here. Yea don't like when people act like little kids with all that name calling stuff. Like why can't they just have a regular conversation lol.

Race impacts a marriage in most cases due to cultural & worldview differences. It has nothing to do with bigotry, hate, or being a "narrow-minded jerk wad". Marriages today have a less than 50% chance of making it as it is, but when you try to blend another way of being & thinking into the mix, not to mention in-laws, the chances of the marriage working goes up exponentially.

Hmm....guess we beat the odds. Married 30 years, different races, different cultures, different countries of birth, different religions, raised a happy gay son. We do have the same political stance.
We are happy because we accept all people.

My mom gave me excellent advise years ago, "Don't date anyone you wouldn't consider marrying, as you can't always help who you fall in love with." Dating, like marriage, should not be based only on an emotional response (e.g., lust or puppy love). If more people actually thought through their actions, we'd have a lot less out-of-wedlock babies being born, abortions, STD's, and destroyed or destructive relationships/marriages.

In the long run, it is none of my business who anyone marries, how they mess up their lives, or that society has declined as a result of bad decisions & poor moral behavior. I live my life as I believe & allow everyone else there own prerogative for screwing up theirs. Isn't free-will & privacy grand?

I am not attract other people who isn't my culture but sometimes it depend whether I like/love the person.
