According to The Daily Mail, a set of drinking goblets owned by Adolf Hitler, complete with engraved initials, are going up for auction on Tuesday.

They're expected to fetch up to £8,000 ($13,000).

hitler engraved initials auction tuesday expected fetch 8000 13000

The glasses are believed to have been found in the bunker in Berlin where Hitler killed himself in April 1945. His wife, Eva Braun, whom he married less than 40 hours before they both committed suicide, ingested cyanide.

The auctioneer said he's "excited" to be getting rid of them. We bet.

I would hope a museum would take them. He was an evil man, but they ARE interesting from a historical standpoint; and, as the saying goes, if we don't learn from history, we'll be doomed to repeat it. We can't erase Hitler and every other evil dictator from the books; we can hope to eradicate their ideas though, through knowledge.

Sure.. Not for 13,000 but to own something of that value and historical importance would be amazing. I do not condone what he did but the collector's pieces would be awesome.

They should be thrown on the ash heap of history. I'd rather buy china from the Clinton White House.... I'll start the bidding at 50 cents.

Why????? I really don't care how valuable they are, and plus they are just glasses, but I still wouldn't want to 'buy' anything that was associated with such an evil person.

    Buy them? No way.

I would send a gang of thugs round to smash them to pieces
and beat up anyone who objected.

That is what Hitler and his thugs did to Jewish people.
One word: Kristallnacht. The night of broken glass.

If I $13,000 to throw away, maybe I'd buy it. It's value would certainly grow in the future, but do I really want it? Ehh... nahh.

I don't have to. My Grandpa, a WWII veteran brought home all sorts of captured German war goodies. German war flags, a couple of SS daggers, one of those "coal kettle" style helmets, two Mauser rifles and yes...even a German Luger.

Under New York State Law, the Luger had to be registered....whch it is.

If it was cheap. My main reason for collecting NAZI items are to show just how strong NAZISM was in German life. I see that as the only good reason to collect this sort of stuff.
