I rented my prom dress in high school. Why buy something I'm only going to wear one night?

That's a little different, that's common practice and has been for a while now. I think this article is referring to everyday clothing.

Everyday clothing is different. No, I wouldn't be interested in renting it.

If people realized how small skin cells and body secretions remain is clothing after they are worn and the extent that the "cleaners" must go to truly clean those garments, they won't touch this one. The Tux rentals are a bit different as they are not out the door on a daily basis and rarely worn for a long periods of time and they are chemically cleaned to disinfect. Other clothes ar thinner and take a beating in every day wear.

Esp. if the rental included a stylist to help me choose what looked good on me. it would be great to rent an expensive wardrobe for a cruise, reunion, or anywhere that you wanted to look and feel your best

If you buy clothes is should be because you love them, they fit and you really need them. There should not be a reason why you would want to rent them.

No, I would want to wear clothes I purchase more than once.
Maybe on occasions where I need to look fancy then perhaps I would consider this. But that is rarely ever.

no I don't mind buying used clothing but I wouldn't rent clothes and take then back. I've never rented costumes because I always thought of the sweat, the smell and what ever else could get on then. so I wouldn't rent clothing.

Not like this. I understand the concept of renting tuxes and ect for one-use occasions, but renting just clothing like you rent movies is just weird. Furthermore, I spend less money each month than this service costs, so it would be a waste. Especially because I wouldn't need clothing rental every month. Not to mention I just like owning things, especially when it comes to things like clothing, because I wouldn't want to let a perfect pair of jeans or a cute enough top go-- especially comfortable pieces. While I'm sure the clothing is clean, it still wouldn't feel right. Finally, would you pay for damaged product? If you spill red wine all over a white shirt? If you tear the jeans because someone knocked you over on the cement?
