Would you be angry or feel sorry if a family member lied and said they were HIV Positive ?

Someone came into hospital from car accident and his mother told the doctor he was HIV Positive. After testing it was make clear he was not.
Long story short, he told his family for past 2 years that he did have the virus. Of course he had to admit that he was lying.
What if a family member did this to you, what would your reaction be?

If they lied and said they were positive when they weren't, I'd probably slap them and stop talking to them, since they're being stupid and probably wanted attention.
If they lied and said they were negative, when they knew they were positive, I'd still slap them for lying about that. They knew they were positive and didn't tell anyone, which means they're essentially a moving infection for anyone they have a relationship with.
I'd probably be less cautious around them though.
I already came to terms with their "dying"; now they can find out what it's like to be dead.
