I don't work but my mom works at a restaurant as dishwasher. It's horrible. She has to stand for many hours and sometimes she gets cut really badly. Sometimes she goes in at 3pm and ends up coming out at 3am. Now that i think about it my mom's a hero! lol

One of my first jobs was working at a sardine factory, it didn't last.

The smell was disgusting, so bad at times it was all I could do to keep from vomiting. I ended up throwing away a some of my cloths because the smell would not completely wash out.

I worked in an assembly plant for a little while through a temp agency - in between semesters while I was in college. It was soooo boring - the line would break down and I would have to sweep the same couple of aisles over, and over, and over...because there was nothing else to do...and when the plant as a whole called for overtime everyone had to stay even if your line was down..I had to stay and sweep the same spotless aisles for hours - it was torturous - But, this dude definitely has it worse!

    Telemarketing.

I worked there for 3 weeks. Our only clients were old people which we had to lure into getting a phone subscription. The hours flew by in an incredibly slow manner.

Worked in a tool factory where I had to grind metal parts. I came out looking like a coal miner. The guys all laughed and asked me if the machine attacked me!!! That was one of the dirtiest jobs I had too!!

Use to work as a telemarketer, and then in call centers. The pay was good but the stressful part was when people dump their anger at you. I don't blame them I admit some call center policies are bs.

I've only had one job, so it is both the best and worst I've ever had. That fits perfectly as I love it and it's lots of fun, but there are many things I hate about it. The company screws the employees over a bit, everything breaks all the time, etc.

Full blown pre-vert! I know allot of woman here are compiling about sexual harassment, but I can tell you as a once androgynous 20 something , now 47, we also got our ass smacked and pinched on the way out the door when going to get coffee for the boys.

That would have been the LAST time a guy did that to me. He'd get it in the crotch and HARD. Wouldn't care if I got fired or not because of it. He would deserve it.

Yeah, some employers are good for that. I never thought that was right. In the United States we have an organization that regulates workplaces and makes sure that employees have a safe and clean working enviroment. Some don't have that in place I guess.

Eh, it is safe and clean, but we're a fast food place and the ice cream machine is constantly breaking, the coffee machine, the heating system, etc. It's annoying for us and irritating for the customers.

I hear that. THAT can be very annoying indeed. The higher ups just don't get it. They don't realize it all makes THEM look bad. After all they own the company. It's disgusting how cheap some employers are.

Mhm, our store does not make very much money for them, but still they have CHOSEN to keep our store open for the company, so they should bloody well keep it decently maintained.

Door to door salesman. I kept getting bitten by guard dogs (and having to get rabies shots which are quite unpleasant) at one point thrice in a day by people who still slammed the door in my face. Also I got paid for the first time 2 months into my work and found out I was only making $1.25 an hour. Than later I found out that that my boss was keeping the money and not actually painting anyone's house, I barely escaped a run in with the cops and quit immediately. Still it was nice to be working outside.

my son delivered papers too - he would only get paid if the people actually paid and half never did because they were customers who 'supposedly' agreed to get the paper through this telemarketing service - not worth it at allll. He actually owed them money? lol

My worst job was working in a warehouse that made styrofoam cups. This place was always fast paced. You were always moving. They had 12 hour shifts and the company encouraged you to show up half hour early.Once you were in the door you couldn't leave. You couldn't go outside for your breaks or lunch.I was told that this place was unbearable in the summer time(i was employed as a temp and worked the winter months before I was layed off for lack of work). If it was 90 out it was well over 100 inside BC the foam cup machines always kept up the temperatures 10 to 15 degrees higher than the outside temp.

I have had more than my fair share of lousy jobs. One was indeed at a glass company working in their storage warehouse. My job was to transfer boxes of glass from a train boxcar to storage using a overhead crane.I replaced someone injured the day before. The crane was falling apart and the rails that it was one was spitting bolts to the floor. It needed major repair and was a safety hazard. The second job was working in a metal factory where I was required to strap metal bars that came out of the oven to get the ready for transport. I had to wear asbestos gloves because even though the bars had been out of the oven for over eight hours they still were still hot around 300 degrees or so.Tough dirty job and easy to get burned

Started out as an insurance underwriter, and had to check incoming urine samples
that were in clear plastic "pill type" containers, for signs of pus, and a couple of other visable thru the container, before I repacked them and sent the off to a lab for other testing...they came to me thru the mail, in a very rigid mailing container, but some of them leaked...it was kind of gross....
