Plastic becasue the don't stain your clothes. They may break easier and faster, but it beats having to wash your clothes again.

Yeah, I have been trying to phase out some of the old blackening wooden ones my mom still uses. No point in keeping them around if we have more pins overall than what we need - and - hands down, the plastic ones we've had are better and stronger. They have kept their spring a lot better and still grab things more effectively.

Once they /age/ properly (on the laundry Clotheslines outside) .. they are great for making Christmas Ornaments .. (yes, you can make Ornaments with them .. Taught my children how to do that too!)

Ugh, ours don't - not even close. We've got newer wooden ones that don't hold nearly as well as old plastic ones.

The plastic ones are too cheap -- keep cracking.

The ones we have are a lot better quality than the wooden ones, which I would toss in the burn barrel if I could do it without getting caught.

I have a serious hatred for plastic and whenever there is an alternative I avoid plastic. For me, wooden clothespins are iconic and I could not have any other kind.

I'm just so sick of the wooden ones, lately - they just will not hold properly or stay together.

They are significantly flimsier and more cheaply made than they used to be!
