Women Prefer Men Who Can Dance: Are You a Good Dancer?

Bad news for guys with two left feet: Women prefer men who can dance to those who can't. In a study from the University of Göttingen, in which 53 women watched two men dancing side by side, "women spent roughly twice as much time looking at good dancers, and also looked at them more often," says study author Bernhard Fink, Ph.D., an anthropologist at U. of Göttingen, according to Men's Health.

The ladies especially appreciated fast bending and twisting movements of the head, neck, torso and knees. And they found the good dancers to be more attractive and more masculine, Fink says. Plus, women see a man who can dance as confident, outgoing, social and conscientious, he adds.

It gets worse: Women see men who can't dance as uptight or neurotic. They are particularly turned off by small or slow movements, and by guys who repeat the same move over and over again.

    Make that past tense. Haven't danced for years, apart from coaching some dance scenes (including a lil choreo, demonstration, etc.) in a couple of musicals. My Wonder Woman doesn't dance, I don't direct/produce the kinds of things that involve dance anymore: not much call for me to "bust a move" now.

    I can dance, but I really hate it. I used to dance more when I was younger, but now, I avoid it at all costs. Fast dancing is boring to me. Slow dancing is great, but nobody does that any more, so I'm out.

    And it's taken me a long time to get to where I am at this point. When I was younger, I was so bad that I put some of my unlucky dance partners in the hospital. ;)

    And I don't think women prefer men who dance...they just see dancing as a plus in a man they're already attracted to or involved with. Women prefer men who are masculine, whether they can dance or not, look good or not, have money or not...etc.

    As a Hispanic, here in the Hispanic community we dance salsa, merengue, bachata, cumbia, etc. But If a guy I really like doesn't know how to dance, there's no problem with that. I can teach him. ONE THING! As long as we can slow dance on our own time, it's all perfect. :)

    Those 53 women must have been REALLY narrow minded. Whether you can dance or not shouldn't matter. You can be a bad dancer and still be outgoing.
    I don't care if a guy can dance. I can't dance, and if the guy doesn't want to try and make a joke about it, then that's fine. I probably won't, either.

    And I actually don't prefer a guy who can dance (even though my boyfriend DOES dance :P) because then he's gonna wanna dance all the time while I'm like white girl dancing

    I'm a dancer, and I LOVE a guy who loves to dances. But I also love a guy who can't dance but doesn't care how bad he is. Dancing is meant to be fun and expressive not a competition on who can keep a beat the best. can t dance GIF

    The kind of women who prefer men who can dance aren't looking for a relationship; they're looking for someone to entertain them. Then, when we get tired of entertaining you all the time and stop doing it, you start complaining "You've changed," and "You're not the man I married," and "You don't love me anymore."
