It's an intelligence test not a how smart can you be in love test.

Of course it depends on what women are being compared to what men, but in my experience, when it comes to common sense and intuition women far surpass men every time.

But of course most women will say yes and most men will say no. So the leading opinion is just a matter of how many men vs women voted.

I like to think woman are smart but I think man are smart too.
Everyday something new comes up it hard to believed some of this studies.

I wish they would have used you as a subject for the test. Men would still have the higher IQ. Learn how to use the plural form of man and woman correctly.

We have always been just as smart as men in different ways. But now we are exposed to much more of the world than we were 50 yrs ago and are required to use more of our brains. Both sexes have their strengths and weaknesses. If we work together, we cannot be beaten.

I'd say its an even ground neither one is smarter then the other yes men have advantages In some area's and women have advantages but all in all we are equal any idea that men are smarter then women or women smarter then men is just pure ignorance in my eyes any adult thats on this thinking is simply idiotic im sorry but there is no reason to fIght over this like children its just annoying whatching this go on.

This is sort of a broad stroke assessment. I think its far easier to say both genders have its fair share of individuals with high IQs as well as Individuals that natural selection should have weeded out long ago.

This whole competition between which is the better gender is a little pathetic in my opinion. I mean, if we're shooting for equality across the board, be it about gender, race, nationality, etc..., then the assumption one is truly better than the other really has no room.

It's merely a population issue. More women in the world or the USA did probably skew the statistical analysis. More women going to college too. I have a Master Degree.

We are all windowlickers on the short bus to school in regards to the challenges our species faces.

This is rather misleading. The average scores are still very similar, and a few points difference as to where the middle is doesn't really matter. Women tend to hover around the median, whereas men tend to be either geniuses, or retarded, at the ends of the spectrum, which is why you go up, or down, on the IQ scale, the bigger a difference there is in the male/female ratio.

first of all this is such a nonrelevant question :/...there is no such thing as smarter sex.there are individuals that are smarter than some others ,but sex generally,...really?

women and men think in different ways. just different, it's really no need to compare.

IQ tests (Stanford-Binet) measure an ability to to learn, many great minds had low IQ scores. The ability without the motivation is not going to make women smarter as the only factor. The motivation to pursue knowledge, process the information and practice in critical thinking creates a higher intelligence quotient...

There is no way to produce an unbiased test. All tests are measuring some subset of the aspects of intelligence that make up human capacity. To suggest that either sex has a general advantage is sloppy thinking and bad statistics to say the least.

Personally, I've been sick of this battle-of-the-sexes crap since I was a kid. I didn't understand it then. I understand it now, and I still think it's divisive and disgusting.

The reason I said no is because men and woman are so different it is hard to compare. Men are better at some things, and women at other things.
The male brain is highly specialized, using specific parts of one hemisphere or the other to accomplish specific tasks. The female brain is more diffused and utilizes significant portions of both hemispheres for a variety of tasks.
Men are able to focus on narrow issues and block out unrelated information and distractions. Women naturally see everyday things from a broader, "big-picture" vantage point.
Men can narrowly focus their brains on specific tasks or activities for long periods of time without tiring. Women are better equipped to divide their attention among multiple activities or tasks.
Men are able to separate information, stimulus, emotions, relationships, etc. into separate compartments in their brains, while women tend to link everything together.
Men see individual issues with parts of their brain, while women look at the holistic or multiple issues with their whole brain (both hemispheres).
Men have as much as 20 times more testosterone in their systems than do women. This makes men typically more aggressive, dominant and more narrowly focused on the physical aspects of sex.

IQ results are also affected to a small extent by the type of education a person has and whether they have practiced for the tests beforehand, tainting the results.

Sometimes but I'll say yes :) Like my fiance is amazing with his hands, cars, tools, fixin ect, racing, and at moments he is much smarter than me, everyone has their "blonde moments".

I think that the progressive "war on boys" is starting to show the fruits of it's evil labor.
